Three days later, I was standing in the lobby and Haley was bringing Jack to me, for the weekend. The elevator bell dinged and I looked over, seeing Morgan pushing (Y/N) in a wheelchair. A nurse was next to him and he was laughing at (Y/N)'s demeanor.

"Come on, Morgan. I've been sitting and laying down for three days. I just wanna walk, man!" I heard (Y/N) whine and Morgan say,

"No way, Little Mama. Doc says wheel wheelchair to car." Stopping in front of me, I smiled down at her and said,

"He's right you know." She rolled her eyes and pouted, saying,

"I'm tired of sitting on my ass." Chuckling, I shook my head and rolled my eyes, saying,

"Too bad. Doctors orders." She looked past me and said, softly,

"Aaron..." Turning around, I saw Haley and she was holding Jack's hand. Sighing, I looked at (Y/N) and she nodded at me, mouthing,

"It's okay." Walking up to Haley, I looked at her and cleared my throat, not saying anything. Then, I looked down at Jack and smiled, kneeling down as I said,

"Hey, Buddy." Smiling at me, he looked at me and responded,

"Hi, Daddy."

"Are you excited for this weekend?" I asked and he jumped up and down, saying,

"Yeah!" Chuckling, I nodded and said,

"Yeah." Standing up, I looked at Haley and said,

"We're gonna go to the zoo tomorrow and I'll get him back to you on Sunday." She nodded and started,

"Aaron, I-" Glancing at her, I cut her off,

"Don't, Haley. Just...don't." She got quiet and picked Jack up, hugging him.

"I love you." She said to him, kissing his forehead, and he kissed her cheek, saying,

"I love you too, Mommy!" She handed me his bag and put him on the ground, saying,

"I'll see you on Sunday." Looking at her, I nodded and said,

"Sunday then." Walking back over to (Y/N), I looked at her and smiled, saying,

"Jack, this is (Y/N). She's a good friend of mine." Jack looked up at her and said,

"Hi, (Y/N)." (Y/N) smiled at him and said,

"Hi, Jack. Your dad talks about you a lot." Jack looked up at me and I nodded, saying,

"It's true." Jack looked at her and asked,

"Are you sick?" (Y/N) chuckled and shook her head, saying,

"No."

"Are you hurt?" He asked and she nodded, answering,

"Yeah. I got hurt a few weeks about. Your dad helped me." His eyes widened and he asked, excitedly,

"Really?!?" Nodding, she smiled and replied,

"Really...He's my hero." Smiling down at her, I looked back up at Morgan and he smiled st me, saying quietly,

"I'll get going."

"Thank you." I mouthed and he nodded, walking away. (Y/N) looked at Jack and asked,

"Wanna ride out with me? Doctor says I'm not supposed to walk." Looking up at me, he asked,

"Can I?" Smiling down at him, I nodded and replied,

"Well, I guess you can." He climbed up on (Y/N)'s lap and she took a deep breath as he settled. I helped him and whispered,

"Careful, Buddy."  He sat on her and she asked,

"You ready?" Jack smiled at her and replied,

"Ready!"  Pushing them out of the hospital, the nurse followed us out and I went up to the car, saying,

"Okay, Buddy. Let's help (Y/N) get into the car." She was still healing, so she was still moving stiffly. Jack nodded and got off her lap, holding her hand.

"Come on, (Y/N). But be careful!" Jack said, pulling her hand as I helped her walk to the car and sit her down. When she was in the passenger seat, he climbed in and buckled her up, saying,

"Safety first! Right, Daddy?" Smiling down at him, I nodded and said,

"Right, Buddy." The nurse smiled and said,

"Smart man...She'll need a lot of rest, her injuries won't heal otherwise." Nodding, I shook his hand and said,

"Thank you." He nodded and took the wheel chair back into the building with him. Looking down at Jack, I smiled and asked,

"Ready, Buddy?" Nodding, he held my hand and walked around to the other side of the car. When he got into the car, I buckled him up and said,

"Safety first." Jack nodded and smiled, saying,

"Yes." Getting into the car, I looked over at (Y/N) and she smiled at me, saying,

"I like the zoo." Pausing, she glanced back at Jack and asked,

"Do you like the zoo, Jack?" Starting the car, I looked at Jack and he said,

"Yeah! The zoo is cool!" The drive to (Y/N)'s house was filled with Jack and (Y/N) talking about things. Anything. Everything. And the more Jack got attached to her, the more I fell in love with her. Parking, I got Jack out of the car and he helped me bring (Y/N) into her apartment.

"Are we staying with (Y/N), Dad?" Looking down at him, I nodded and replied,

"Yeah. I hope you don't mind." Jack smiled and said,

"Sleep overs are fun!" Smirking at (Y/N), I winked and looked back at him, saying,

"Yes, they are..." (Y/N) started blushing and I chuckled, saying,

"Let's go get you settled down in the other room, Buddy." (Y/N) limped to her couch and sat down, glaring at me. I helped Jack organize her guest bedroom the way he wanted it and I brought him into the living room. (Y/N) was watching TV and Jack sat next to her, asking,

"Can we watch cartoons?" Looking at him, she smiled and nodded, saying,

"Yeah, we can watch cartoons. You pick." She handed him the remote and he put on 'Spongebob'.  Looking at (Y/N), I  caught her eyes and she blushed, looking away from me. We watched cartoons for the rest of the day and Jack fell asleep on (Y/N)'s lap.

"You're good with him." She looked at me and stroked his hair, saying,

"I wanted children, but..."

"But what?" I asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and caressing her cheek. She sighed and looked down at Jack, saying,

"I just never found the right man to have a child with, I guess." Smiling at her, I corrected,

"You did...He was just a blind asshole." She chuckled and nodded, saying,

"That's true." Smiling, I kissed her, softly, and pulled away, saying,

"Let me go put him in bed." Picking Jack up, I walked into her guest room and tucked Jack in, kissing his forehead. Walking back into the living room, I looked at (Y/N) and helped her back into her room.

"Can you change? Or do I have to help you with that?" I asked, smirking and sitting her on her bed. (Y/N) looked at me and took her shirt off, slowly. Grunting, softly, she shook her head, saying,

"Now, that actually hurts...a lot." Looking down at her, I bit my bottom lip and grabbed her a T-shirt, saying,

"I'll help you." Helping her change, I sighed and next next to her, saying,

"Not being able to touch you is going to kill me." She laid down and sighed, saying,

"It won't be easy for me either." Laying next to her, I pulled her closer to me and kissed her, holding her by the hips. When I pulled away from her, I wrapped my arms around her waist and said,

"I haven't held you in four days, I was having withdrawals." She smiled and ran a hand through my hair, saying,

"The feeling is mutual."
