Lunch

A few days later, we were at work and (Y/N) was in her office, she hadn't been outside all day. Standing up, I walked across the bullpen and out to (Y/N)'s office. Looking into her office, through the glass on her door frame, I saw her sitting at her desk and she looked, stressed. Knocking, I waited on her confirmation for me to come in and when I walked into the room, she glanced up at me briefly.

"Hey there, handsome. What's up?"

"Nothing, love. Just worried about you. You haven't come out of your office all day. You need to eat something."

"Has it really been all day?" She looked at her watch and her eyes widened, realizing what time it was.

"Want to go for lunch?" I asked, smiling at her and she looked at me, a soft smile coming to her face. Nodding, she stood up and I looked at her, white button down and black slacks. Comfortable, but professional. All gorgeous.

Walking out of her office, we went to a small cafe near the office and (Y/N) sat down, sighing. Sitting across from her, I held her hand on the table and she looked at me, relaxing.

"You seem distracted."

"Sorry, all the case files I've been looking at have me all out of whack."

"Yeah, I get that." (Y/N) put her head down on the table and the waiter walked over, greeting us,

"Hi! What can I start you off with to drink?" (Y/N) sat up and looked at him, replying,

"Coffee." He looked over to me and I replied,

"Coffee."

"Alright, folks. I'll be right back."

Leaving us alone, I looked over to (Y/N) and she looked exhausted, to say the least.

"(Y/N)..." I called, catching her attention and continuing,

"Um...Do you think we're at a stable stage in our relationship?"

"Yes."

"I...Uhm..."

"Aaron, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, (Y/N). I just..." Pausing, I shifted and pulled a small silver ring out of my coat pocket. She pulled her hand out of mine and looked at me, wide eyed.

"Wait, (Y/N). It isn't what you think. It's just a promise ring." Relief flowed through her and I started, softly,

"I want you in every way possible, but I know we haven't been together long enough to marry."

"Oh, Aaron." She sighed, her eyes becoming soft and I continued,

"I want that commitment, though (Y/N). Would you wear it? Promise yourself to me?" The waiter came back with our coffee and we ordered our food. When he walked away, again, (Y/N) looked at me, smiling.

"Aaron...I'm already promised to you." Slipping the ring onto her finger, I sighed and she smiled, her hand resting delicately on the table.

Thirty minutes later, we were headed back to the office and Garcia ran into us, eyes landing on (Y/N)'s hand.

"YOU GUYS ARE-"

"No, Garcia. It's just a promise ring." (Y/N) interrupted her, covering Garcia's mouth with her hand and cutting off her squealing. Bouncing up and down, she looked excited and (Y/N) sighed,

"Yes, Garcia. You can look at it." Holding her hand out to the bubbly woman in front of us, she smiled at me and Garcia was ecstatic.

"Sir! It's so cute!"

"Thank you, Garcia."

"I can't wait until the two of you have babies! THEY ARE GOING TO BE ADORABLE!!"

"Garcia, please quiet down."

"BUT IT'S THE CUTEST THING EVER!"

Laughing, I looked at (Y/N)'s blushing face and Garcia's excited form. They were best friends, yet their personalities were so different. Watching them talk, I smiled down at (Y/N) and laughed at how forward Garcia was being with two of her superiors.
