Chapter 37
I respected that he needed time to think about it and I am not going to rush him. I don't think I would want to continue the relationship if I were him, but we both know now that we can't be without each other.
"Well, you know what we both need right now?" I spoke.
"What?" He whispered, placing both his hands over his face.
"Frozen yogurt." I laughed, slightly nudging him.
"Frozen yogurt?"
"Yeah! I'll even let you get the big cup,"
"What if I don't want the big cup?"
"Then get it anyway. Frozen yogurt fixes all problems."
"This is not a time for frozen dairy products!"
I laughed. "Oh come on, you weirdo!"
He let out a small laugh and agreed to go.
"Put on some clothes and meet me in the car," I told him, starting to walk out to the living room.
"Wait," he called for me, "can you please gather my clothes for me?"
I looked around the room and saw his pants next to Niall's on the floor. I had a flashback of Niall and Harry touching each other and I cringed.
"No," I answered.
"Then I'm not going,"
I grunted. "God damnit, Harry! Fine!"
I gathered all the clothes off of the floor and chucked them at him, not caring if Niall's clothes were in there too.
"Meet me outside when you're done and don't talk to Niall."
-
He met me in the car minutes later and we sat in silence as I began to drive. The bright sun shined on his skin, lighting up his beautiful face. I turned on the music and I soon noticed Harry smiling next to me.
"Why are you so happy all of the sudden?"
"You still have the The Fray CD in here? I thought you would have gotten rid of it a long time ago!"
"Why would I get rid of it? It's one of the most important things I own,"
"Why?"
"It reminds me of a better time, you know? When I was happy,"
"You're not happy with me?"
I turned onto the highway. "Not when you constantly want to kill yourself,"
He was silent for a long time as the music played quietly in the background. As the next song came on, he sang to it.
I happily listened to him sing and after another two songs, I turned the music off.
"Sorry if I was annoying you," he blurted.
"No, Harry, I want to hear you sing alone. Without the music playing."
He laughed quietly and shook his head. "Well what song would you like me to sing?"
"Sing 'Don't Let Me Go',"
-
I pulled into the parking lot right outside the building and I felt tears sting my eyes as the song as about to end. Harry wrote that beautiful song for me. It was my twenty-second birthday present.
"Louis?"
"Lou?" He placed his hand on my shoulder and forced me to look at him, "Are you crying?"
"No," I squeaked, trying not to let the tears fall.
He giggled quietly and brought me in for a hug. "You cry over the weirdest things."
"I'm glad you like that song so much," he continued.
"I love it."
"Good. Now c'mon, let's go get some yogurt,"
-
"We should have gotten some beer while we were out," he told me as he shoveled a spoonful of chocolate yogurt in his mouth. We just got home and he already put a movie on. Why can't we just watch regular TV for once?
"Ew, that would be disgusting with this!"
"No it wouldn't!"
"You like the weirdest things! What's the other thing you like?" I thought for a moment, "bananas and teriyaki sauce?"
"It's good!"
"You're a disgusting human being."
"I may be, but you still love me."
"You're lucky I do."
"True."
Harry downed his whole cup of yogurt in about twenty minutes and I gave him the rest of mine. He needs to eat more anyway. He's still underweight and it's obvious he hasn't been eating.
My phone began to go off in my pocket and I fished it out. Why is Anne calling?
"Hello?" I answered.
"Louis, Gemma's hurt! I need you guys here right now!"
