Chapter 39
HARRY'S POV
I watched as James' whole body became completely lifeless, his arms that were trying to stop me roughly hitting the ground. His dead eyes were focused on me and I quickly tried to close them, but they just slowly opened again. Blood flowed out of his forehead, creating a huge puddle around our bodies. The front of the hammer was lodged in his skull, the bone visible. His lips were slightly parted, making it clear that he was trying to talk right before he died. I gently dipped my finger in his warm blood, and drew a stripe down his nose. With a small smile, I got up off the ground and took one long look at James before opening the garage door and leaving the scene.
LOUIS' POV
Anne and I have been watching Gemma for the past twenty minutes, not saying a word. Anne hasn't stopped crying since she got here and I don't know what to do. Should I comfort her? Should I go hug her? I just don't know.
"Gemma will be fine, I promise," I finally told Anne in an attempt to calm her down. I didn't know if Gem will actually be okay or not, I'm just tired of listening to her cry.
"She doesn't look like it," She held Gemma's hand, "she's barely breathing,"
"All we can do is hope, right?"
She nodded her head and gently ran her fingers over a bruise covering Gemma's arm.
How could James do that to someone so innocent? Who does he think he is? I just hope Harry's actually talking to him, and not beating him up like he has a habit of doing. Although, I do hope that Harry did put a punch or two in there.
Gemma's eyes were closed, black eyeliner stains down her cheeks from when she was crying. I found myself quickly wondering what happened to her forehead. What could have James done to her to make her bleed like this? The large white bandage covering the wound wasn't much help anymore, blood dripping from the cloth onto her cheeks. They need to get her stitches as soon as possible.
"I'll go get a nurse and tell her to get Gem a new bandaid," I told Anne as I began to walk towards the door.
Before I could turn the handle, a sweaty Harry walked in.
He pushed me back into the room and closed the door behind him. He was breathing harder than i've ever seen anyone breathe before. His white t-shirt had red dots splattered on it- blood? His green eyes were alert, looking around the room erratically.
"Are you okay?" I asked, slightly backing away from him.
"Never been better," he smiled. But this wasn't his normal smile. He looked crazy, deranged almost.
I looked over at Anne and she was eyeing Harry carefully. I can tell she was scared too.
"Well, Harry," I warily asked, "wanna tell me what you did to him?"
He shrugged, the same smile still playing on his lips. "We just talked."
"Yeah," I nodded my head, "okay, Harry, could you please stop? You're scaring me,"
He walked even closer to me, his tall body slightly towering over mine. "How am I scaring you?"
Anne was still glaring at us and Harry quickly noticed her.
"I need to know what you did to James," I told him, bringing his attention back to me.
"I already told you,"
"You were lying to me."
"You're right, I was lying," he laughed.
"If you hurt James I swear to God-"
