Chapter 9

Aeris' POV

"Ass," I mumbled to myself, thinking of Adam. He just left. With the spellbook. With everything that we needed for this spell. Damnit.

Larissa, Raevanna, and I walked towards the village, basically saying that this was a waste of our time. There was no spell, no magic. No Dani Jones or Peter Pan. They weren't real. All of this was just one big delusion in Adam and James' heads.

A rustle in the woods made all four of us stop and examine the area. It sounded like footsteps, running towards us.

Suddenly, Adam busted out of the trees, panting, sweat running down his shirt. Raevanna and Larissa groaned.

Larissa's dark brown eyes rolled in annoyance. Speaking of the traitor," Larissa pressed her lips together, giving him a look.

Adam took that as an offend. "Traitor?" He shook his head, "Nevermind. We've got bigger problems."

"We?" Raevanna snapped, taking a step closer to Adam. "Who said that we were helping you?"

Adam scoffed. "I did. We don't have time for arguing."

"Then what's the big deal?" I questioned, grabbing my bow and arrows, "You left us with both the spellbook and the ingredients for the spell!"

Adam hesitated, but kept a firm expression. "My brother and I had to take the materials back to the warehouse. But we have bigger problems now." His eyes darted to Raevanna. "Your father and the Evil Queen took my brother, along with the spell."

My eyes widened. "James is gone?"

Adam nodded recurrently. "We need him and the spell!"

"Well, even though your brother is, at points, an ass, we have to save him." Raevanna states, shooting some magic into the air.

We all look up to see what looks like a magic map. A glowing section of the map is red, a little dot. Another little dot appears, but this one is purple. It had some distance in between the red one, but it doesn't look too far.

"A locator spell," I realized.

"Right. That red dot is where James is. The purple one is where we are." Raevanna explains, pointing out the two dots, "My father and The Evil Queen are keeping James in her castle. By foot, that's not far. Just a quick run throughout the forest, and we should reach the castle before nightfall."

Larissa and I nod, studying the map. Raevanna makes the magic disappear by clutching her hand.

"Now, let's go."

James' POV

Another hard punch impacted with my face, only making me laugh. "Damn it Rumple. Watch the face, it's my money maker."

That remark earned another hit.

"Really?" I spit blood, groaning. "That just ruined my good looks for a few days!"

"Will you just shut him up already?" Regina complained.

I send the Queen a cocky, sarcastic sweet smile. "Not possible sweetheart. You're more than welcome to continue your torture though. Give it your best shot." I smirk, my teeth stained with red blood, making me look crazier than I already make some people think I am.

The witch bitch attempted to strike, but surprisingly, the Dark One held her back. "It's no use. Nothing we do will effect him."

Glad they're coming to their senses.

"We can't just let him go!" Regina argues.

"No, we can't, until he talks." Rumple grabbed my throat tightly. "You are going to tell us what the Lost Boys are planning."

"Or what? You'll punch me again?" I let out a choked laugh. "The thing is, with threats, Rumple, you have to make your enemy fear you. And I fear nothing."

"Everybody is afraid of something." Rumple grins, removing his grip. "Torture may not affect you, but it may affect your brother."

Immediately my muscles tense and I jerk forward but the restraints keep me in the metal chair.

"You hurt him and I'll kill you and everybody else you care for." I growl, feeling my magic stir.

"We aren't going to touch him," The pair share a devilish look, "You however may do the damage."

Before I knew it, Regina had my heart in her palm. It was a dark thing. Rumple broke the restraints.

I charged at him but an immeasurable amount of pain brought me to my knees. I was barley able to raise my head as Regina squeezed my heart.

"Ah-ah, we will have none of that." She brings the organ close to her lips. "Stand," she whispers, the word echoing through my head, loud and strong, giving me no other option to oblige.

"Good. Now raise your right hand."

I can't control my movements. My right hand shoots straight up.

"Perfect. Now listen closely because my next set of commands are going to be pretty critical." Her lips are barley moving and my ears don't hear anything, but her voice roams in my mind.

No! No! Don't make me! I want to scream but I can't.

My fists glow red, and my feet stomp away from the pair leading me to the other voices.
