"Nothing. I don't want to talk about it." I said sternly turning away. My body faced the door instead of the mirror. I couldn't look at the girl anymore.
"Stop lying." He said raising his voice.
I pushed my brothers arms off of me.
"I'm not, and if I am it isn't any of your business." I shouted back.
I was now facing my brother completely. I was astonished at his tone towards me. He's never aggressive or angry. I rolled my eyes and sighed. I was feed up with this. I walked out of my room and downstairs. Just as I reached the bottom the door bell rang. My brother was a few steps behind me. I answered the door only to see Derek.
"What're you doing here?" I asked. I had no idea he was coming over.
"I thought we could hang out and talk and stuff."
"Is it about.." I trailed off. He knew where I was going and nodded.
"Can I come in?" He asked. I agreed and let him in. I told my brother to leave me alone and then led Derek upstairs to my room. Once we got in my room I closed the door and sat on my window seat. He sat next to me, placing my legs on the other side of his like a bridge.
"He was just using you....to...to get another girl jealous." He said stuttering with his words.
"Oh." I said. "Um..that's.." I trailed off. I had no idea what that was exactly.
"I'm sorry. I know you really like him in all." He said giving me sympathy.
"It's..okay." I shrugged. Derek then pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back resting my head on his shoulder. I didn't know what to think of all this.
He pulled away and rubbed my cheek lightly. I was tripping upon his gaze. I lost myself somewhere in it. "It'll be fine."
The way he said that resured me that I'd be okay. Feelings ware off, right? I nodded at his words. "You're right."
He starred into my eyes helplessly. I couldn't help but stare back. They were so beautiful and full. They held ideas and thoughts, color and feelings. They shared warmth and safety.
Before loosing myself completely I got up. I moved over to my closet to grab yoga pants and a comfy shirt. I wasn't comfortable in skinny jeans and a tight t-shirt. "Hold on, I'll be out in a second."
Right before I had the chance to put my t-shirt on Derek walked up from behind and wrapped his big warm hands around me. He pulled me into his embrace. He just couldn't help himself because before I knew it I was putty in his hands.
"He doesn't deserve you." He said starting to kissed my neck, making me loose my mind. It was warm and it tickled. It was sensationally good.
"You deserve better Kenzie." I pulled away before I got completely caught in the net.
Placing my shirt on I turned around to face him. "Let me in. Let me try at least."
I pushed him out of my closet and back into my room, then shut the closet door. He reacted fast pushing me up against the closet door the minute I turned to face him.
"Derek." I said as he laced our fingers together.
"Yeah?" He said looking deeply into my eyes.
"We're......not going to work. Okay? This isn't going to work.." He nodded but continuing to pin my hands to the side of my head.
Before he did anything he looked into my eyes. His eyes wondered my body before tasting or touching. Once he finished is preview he locked his eyes with mine. He glanced at my lips, switching to my eyes every now and then. Gaining little confidence Derek moved closer to my lips. He looked at them then back into my eyes then back at them.
