"From this day, Uchiha Itachi is an S Rank criminal that murdered and annihilated a whole clan. Uchiha Sasuke and Hoshi Akurei were the only survivors and will be placed under the surveillance of Konoha's police and ANBU system." An ANBU announced and Akurei looked down, drawing circles into the ground with her foot.

Kakashi looked down at her in worry, noticing the habit.

Whenever Akurei knew she was in trouble or 'sad' in some sort, she would always draw circles wherever it was. The situation right now didn't help, for Akurei knew that placing a death sentence on the head of her former teammate was... bad.

All the ANBUs and police organisations in Konoha had assembled and been informed about the incident with the Uchiha clan.

"Uchiha Itachi is to be killed on the spot if seen. Dismissed." Danzo ordered and whispers filled the air as everyone started to move around. Many ANBUs flashed away and dispersed quickly, dismissing the horrid news as if it happened everyday.

"Let's go home." Kakashi murmured and Akurei nodded.

He held her hand and gently squeezed as he lead her back home. Instead of immediately teleporting, they had started to slow life down and treasure it. Ever since the massacre and kidnapping, they realised how unexpected and quick death could come.

The whole village hadn't been its usual self for the past week. The clouds were grey and dark, not a single laugh or giggle heard or emitted. There were hardly any families out, for everyone was holed up in their houses. Unfortunately for the duo, Danzo also dismissed this grim matter as if it was nothing and continued to run the ANBU mercilessly.

Akurei sniffled and Kakashi glanced down, worry etched into his masked face.

"You okay?" He questioned and she blankly looked up at him through the holes of her fox mask.

"I'm fine." She replied and Kakashi sighed, looking away. He scanned the streets, frowning when he caught the familiar shade of black hair.

Kakashi led Akurei towards the boy, who was sitting against the tree with tears streaming down his face and fists clenched in anger. Sobs racked his whole body, which grabbed Akurei's attention.

"Suke-kun..." Akurei murmured and sat down next to her friend. Sasuke continued to act as if they had never come in the first place.

"Sasuke. Where are you staying?" Kakashi asked and continuing to, Sasuke ignored them.

"Why don't you stay over at our place for the time being?" Kakashi offered despite the ignorance Sasuke was displaying, and the Uchiha hesitated.

"I'm going to kill him." Was all he said and the silver haired ANBU sighed.

"Suke-kun. Come." Akurei encouraged and grabbed his hand, pulling him up. Sasuke nodded slowly, earning a soft smile from his green haired friend.

Kakashi smiled at the sight, feeling a tinge of pride spark within him as he watched the pair continue down the road, hand in hand. He lifted up his own, and teleported back home, giving them time. Yes, they were only 5 and yes, they were only children but Kakashi trusted them. They were a lot more mature than they looked, not to mention for their age.

Here Sasuke and Akurei were, worrying about if they were going to live another day peacefully, where other 5 year olds worried about what dinner was for.

Unfortunately, that was the harsh life of a shinobi - to expect the unexpected.

After 30 minutes or so, Kakashi picked up the sound of footsteps as he sat on the couch silently and stiffly, mourning the loss of the Uchiha clan.
