8: Pills

"Melody concentrate" my teacher told me pointing to the book.

"Can we take a break?" I asked with a pleading smile, she nodded at me before letting me leave my room. Walking downstairs I see my mom talking to the neighbors.

"Hey mom" I say with a smile hugging her tight" Hello" I say with a friendly smile to our guest.

"Melody this is Mr. and Mrs. Stone they are family friends actually" she told me with a warm smile.

"Nice to meet you" I say with a smile as I go to shake their

Hands. "You do seem familiar" I say with a smile.

"Really?” mom asked excited smiled knowing mom wanted me to remember people who were really important to me.

"They have a son Kyle he visited you plenty of times in the hospital" I nod and smile before I go to the fridge and take out a cake then cut a slice.

"That's nice I'd love to talk to him" I say lying obviously just trying to be polite.

"He's outside actually" mom said excited, "Go and talk to him I'll tell Deb you'll be back in a bit" mom told me assuring me Deb wouldn't be mad at me for leaving our lesson.

"Ok" I say walking away without a choice. Walking out I find that beautiful boy well man I saw before in the hospital. He looked sad and hopeless, looking around him soon found me looking at him.

"Hi I say with a small smile" he looked at me confused and unsure “I’m Melody your Kyle right?” I asked confused.

"Yes," he said to me then smiled at me before he embraced me in a hug. Normally I would have pushed him away but that look of peace on his face changed my mind.

Kyle indeed is a beautiful human being and certainly the most beautiful man I've seen that I can remember.

I can't help but still wonder who he is.

After the odd hug I continue to talk to him and ask about my life I couldn't help but believe everything he said. It was as if he knew me better then myself.

"Was I ever in love?” I asked curious with a smile as I took a bite of a chocolate chip cookie.

Instantly it got quit to a point I looked up quickly. I stared at his eyes waiting for his reply.

"No" was all he said leaving me back to eat my cookie I nod and smiled at him. "Really I'm surprise I would have thought I've fallen in love for you" I say with a humorous laugh. Kyle laugh a little uncomfortable, I smiled at him before asking how college was for him.

"Pretty good I guess, dropping out after I finish this year" he says looking far into the distance.  My eyes widen confused as to why such a smart guy like Kyle was doing that.

"No" I say strictly "No best friend of mine is going to be a drop out" I say seriously but start laughing at his face seeing how serious he got.

"Calm down, but seriously don't" I beg as I grab his hands. "I'd like to go to your graduation one day" I say to him with a smile.

"Thanks" he said before turning to the window where our parents were fighting for a spot to look out. I started laughing at the scene finding it amusing.

"Were they always like this?" I asked with a smirk.

"Like what?" Kyle asked me amused looking at the window laughing along with me as we watch our mother's stab his dad with their elbows.

"Basically" Kyle told me with a smile "They did the same one winter when we were building a snow man" I laughed at the story and smiled as It felt real.

"They took pictures and sent it out to everyone" he said with a laugh.

"Well then" I say smirking "Ok well it was nice to catch up but I must finish my lessons" I say before getting up, looking down at a sad Kyle.

"Would you like to hang out soon?" I ask trying to get him to smile he nodded before I went back inside with him following.

"Hey princess" My uncle Dan said to me as he walked into the kitchen with his wife Bennett. "Hey" I say with a smile before hugging them.

"How many months?" I asked excited looking down at her stomach.

"Seven in a week" Bennett said excited as well. "Hey little munchkin" I mumbled as I touched her stomach.

"Ok well I need to continue with my lesson bye munchkin" I say still in a daze at my little cousin to be.

"I'm going up mom" I told my mom before I left going up to continue.

___________

Dear Kyle I'm drunk every day I can be, I have been called a slut since some guy slapped my ass at a party you completely ignored me at. And I actually slapped him back but I was still called a slut even though I didn't really do anything. Sure I wasn't a virgin but I didn't really have much choice now did I.  I took me a few years to understand that my dad had taken me to do the shock therapy. I forgot a few months then I forgot many other things like the beating till he started again and it all came back.

Slowly I was force to take a huge amount of pills and to say you weren't my hero would be a lie. Whenever you were around my dad change you were the son my dad would have liked to have instead of a girl like me.
