** JORDYN'S POV **
Valentina was sitting, sobbing next to that other traitor guy...whatever his name was. "Let's go..." I told Chris, and he nodded, but for a second hesitated, "Why not kill those idiots now?" he asked, looking over at them, "No..." I said, planning every move ahead of time, "That's enough...." I started walking to the right, "For now..." and I smiled, knowing all the traps and everything that would happen...After all, maybe it was a good idea to throw Chris in that pit.... I gained an awful lot of information from that... and everything seemed to be under my control now...
** ELI'S POV **
I grabbed a knife and immediately hesitated. If I throw it now, I might kill one of them, but the other will surely kill all of us, and we were in no shape to run. "Cameron!!" Val was screaming, and I felt a wave of sympathy wash over me. "Valentina... maybe he's not dead..." I said before thinking the words over, "What are you talking about? The death announcer went off you complete idiot... that means he's dead!" she cried the last word, sobbing into his lifeless chest. Kelly stood, looking exactly at Parker. "What?" I asked, confused,
"We have to leave." she said, her eyes wide to a point where it frightened me, "Now."
** VAL'S POV **
"Why?" I asked, dry tears on my face, washed away by new ones coming out every second, "Why leave? What happened?" I started to become too worried to concentrate on crying, but almost every inch of me was paralyzed by the fact that Cameron was dead.
"Move." her tone started to become harsh, serious, but her eyes never left Parker, who laid on the floor with Nicole on top of him. And then it hit me.
"Why isn't he moving? He just kissed Nicole and nothing happened... he never happened to get up or anything... she never hurt him, she just caught him kissing Nicole and that's it... why is he--"
Kelly interrupted me once again, this time she seemed to be running out of patience, "WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW," for the first time she looked at Cameron, and I smiled in my head at the fact that she was too smart, "Bring him."
And then she looked back at Parker, then back at me, and said, "Those two... we can't save them." and she started walking away, clearly expecting us to follow, but I just stood frozen, and Eli came to help me pick Cameron up while I stared into the dark, wondering where the hell those two little bitches had gone...
** CHRIS'S POV **
"You know... I still don't get why you left them there, when we could've easily killed all of them without wasting anymore time. Now we're going to have six extra brats walking around in the jungle... well five, if we killed the Cameron guy..." Jordyn laughed, clearly in way too good of a mood to scream or tell me how much of an idiot I was, "Why are you laughing?" I asked, getting a little.... uncomfortably scared, "You think I would ever let our enemy live? Ha... that's too funny..." she smiled and kept walking to who knows where, and suddenly I felt like all the puzzle pieces were starting to click in my head. "All I did..." she smiled, "Was not risk our lives killing them when we can just exterminate them all without getting our hands dirty... you know what I mean?" and she laughed. If I didn't know her I swear I would think she drank way too many drinks or had problems... maybe both... yeah both....
** ANGEL'S POV **
"Thanks again..." she said, looking at her bloody palm.
"It's okay.."
"It's not okay... you kinda risked your life you know... I don't think that's okay...." she made a confused face and cringed her nose in a way that reminded me of Adriana, and I couldn't help but smile.
"I know... but still..." I didn't know what else to say, and with all the death announcements I was scared one of them belonged to Val's death.
"Woah... what's that?" Salma asked, pointing at a bag by a tree. It was different. It looked metallic.
"I don't know," I said truthfully, jogging up to it and kneeling down to look inside, "It's a gun of some kind..." it looked like a gun, but I don't know how. It was a silver curved L. It's trigger was so advanced. It looked like one of those high tech guns.
"Take it." she said, nodding.
"Nah... I say we leave it here for someone else to take..." I said, meaning to be sarcastic. She gave me a 'what's-wrong-with-you?' look. I laughed, "I'm just kidding..." she rolled her eyes and started to walk away. Still laughing, I followed.
** CAITLYNN'S POV **
"So what do you say your name is?" I asked with narrowed eyes. He laughs.
"I said....Matthew." He says his name slowly and makes sure to move his mouth to perfectly fit the words just to make fun of me. I rolled my eyes.
"I know... but I mean I didn't see your name in the survivors list." I cringe away from him slightly at the idea of him lying, and he made a playful monster face, and said, "Me.An.Alien.I.Want.Your.Brain." I raised my eyebrow, "Seriously?"
"Come on now... I didn't see Caitlynn in my list either... but maybe we're both blind... now let's go..." he rolled his eyes and started walking away, and no matter how suspicious I was, my curiosity got the best of me and made me follow him. I was going to ask him who else was on his list. I was sure I had read every single name at least three times and his name was not there.
** GAME CREATORS **
"That girl..." I point at #23, K.C. "Is very...observing..." I couldn't find a better word.
"Precisely."
"And this one...." I pointed at the screen where a long haired young lady walked with another competitor in the ravine. #14. J.M."Is extremely vicious and...competitive... as well as...." I stopped, searching for the right word.
"Abnormal?" Linda asked, her suggestion approved by my pleased nod.
"Precisely." I imitated her and we stayed silent for a couple of seconds.
"This one, though..." she pointed at a girl, her hair blonde, #13 V.O. "Is a little threatening." Her tone was worried.
"What do you mean?" I ask, not looking at her but at the screen.
"She had that flashback... you said it was caused by her dizziness and the smoke and it was no major problem due to the fact that she hasn't been having any since back then and she would think it was all a dream and not what happened before they hit the arena... but what if she knows it's true? What if she has another one? What if she can tell the future now instead of the past?" She looked at the girl and zoomed in the picture, "You know that would be...unpleasant...."
I thought about this for a second before coming up with an answer, "The smoke created a slight opening in the effect of the serum given to her, there is no need to worry... the serum just failed due to the excessive amount of smoke and let her remember some of the things we did not want her--or anyone-- to remember. That's it. It's a small error and now that we know, we have added smoke to our serum weaknesses and that's it. That's all. She does not have any type of future visions power or anything related to that. It was a fail in the system. A quick error. And every error, my friend, can be removed. Even if it comes to the elimination of her very own life." I smiled, "But for now... I don't think we have the need to kill her... give her some time.. see how she reacts... and then we eliminate her... what do you say?" I ask, looking at her. She still has her hand to her forehead and she's looking at the picture on the screen.
"I didn't say we had to kill her... I just suggested she was a small threat...there is no need to--"
"But threats... are our enemy. Or am I wrong?" I interrupted, studying her features.
"I suggest we see how it goes and think from there." She looked at the screen and started working on Phase 4 as I slowly left the room for the day.
"I, on the other hand, suggest we kill her if any pecular behaviors are spotted. Understand?" I lock eyes with her, and I can tell she knows I'm being serious.
"Understand."
