** VAL'S POV **
My eyes started to open as I took in the scene before me. Parker was frowning a couple of feet away from me, apparently not moving. Angel laid not far from me, his face too bloody and bruised to a point where I thought I would faint before seeing anything else. His busted lips were thick with blood and he was in a heavy sleep, something that worried me.
It wasn't until I moved my hand up an inch that I felt a rush of pain spread throughout my body, and I noticed my harmed arms were covered in dark blood, as well as my face, the one part of my body that hurt the most no matter what I did.
"Val?" I tilted my head as slowly as my body allowed to the left, locking eyes with Parker. I offered a weak smile that he returned.
"Hey." I whispered, my voice raspy and dead-like,"what happened?"
He frowned once again, his eyebrows almost touching. "I thought you would know. I mean-- me and Karimah just came here and bam... we found you laying plain dead here, and I kinda freaked out... cause you know... I thought you were dead... and damn... Angel's face is just too bloody and I just-- I'm scarred for life... not to mention paranoid..." the way he simply let the words fall out, looking into space while playing with his fingers made me laugh, temporarily ignoring the throbbing pain that threatened to consume me.
I forced my brain into action just to realize I had no idea who Karimah was. My curiosity took over me for a single second, "Karimah?"
"Yea...My life was dark and then I found her..." I smiled, that was too sweet. "No... like literally.... the room was dark and I found her in there..."
"Way to ruin the moment." I flashed him a smile while rolling my eyes.
"Valentini?" I looked up to see a beautiful girl about our age, her tan hand reaching down to what I thought was help me up, and I grabbed it, the decision becoming instantly regretted.
"Shit." I cursed at the pain that had come back to suddenly.
"It's Valentina." Parker said, fighting back a laugh poorly, "Not Valentini."
"Go ahead, laugh." I rolled my eyes and the sound of laughter immediately filled the air in the room, reminding me of old times, whatever they were. Memories in my head were faded, only fragments of moments available at random moments, bringing me to the verge of tears every time. I wanted so badly to figure out where I had come from, where my family was, if I had a mom that was crying over me every night, and siblings that searched through my stuff, giggling at the memories of a sister. I bit the inside of my cheek, keeping my tears hidden.
"What now?" Karimah asked, ignoring Parker's childish laugh.
"Angel." I began sprinting over to his side, tears already making their way down my face. His eyes fluttered open as soon as I placed a hand on his bruised cheek.
"Hi... Don't feel alright. Stay here for a second, everything hurts. With every move, my body aches. Parker was nice and helped me a bit here... Everything hurts like hell itself and I pretty much feel like dying. Will make no biggie." he was talking so weirdly, it scared me. "Change sides, you're pretty much on my cracked bone." He flashed me a caring smile, and his eyes were full of worry, something I hated myself for causing. "Don't worry about me." he simply said, examining my face. I couldn't hold it in anymore, it seemed like just everything inside of me cracked, everything finally collapsed. All my feelings were let out in form of salty tears and terrified cries, and I wrapped my arms around Angel in a tight friendly hug, "I'm so sorry." I cried more and more, a life supply of tears making their way down my cheeks, "I'm sorry..." it wasn't until I felt his hand land on my head softly that I realized he wasn't talking. I panicked. "Angel?" my terrified eyes locked with his emotionless ones that looked like they were about to lose the life in them at any minute. His forehead was sweating and his breathing was not normal. "Angel! Say something!"
