Chapter Twelve

"Bakit nga ulit pinakulayan mo ng blue yang buhok mo?"

Tinignan niya si Erin. "Trip lang." She shrugged.

"Brokenhearted kasi." One of the triplets answered for her.

"Diba she explained it last time na?" Saad pa ng isa.

"It's just too loud. I mean, sky blue?" Erin glared at her hair.

She ran her fingers through her hair. "Just let it be."

"Hindi na kayo nasanay sa mga kakaibang trip niyan." Lj said, making her presence felt.

Nasa dalampasigan sila ngayon ng Belladona habang nakapalibot sa bon fire.

"Mabuti pa let's start drinking!" She clapped her hands excitedly.

"Isang linggo ka ng naglalasing ha?" Sita ni Leian.

She smiled sheepishly. "Brokenhearted ako, pagbigyan mo na."

"Eh simula ata ng habulin mo ang doctor na iyon, hindi na bago sa'yo ang heartbreak." Ingos ni Ianna. "Mas nakakagulat na ang balita na hindi ka brokenhearted."

Nginitian niya na lang ang kaibigan. This past months, mahirap yung ganitong kumpleto sila kaya mas gusto na lang niyang i-treasure ang moment.

"Ewan ko rin." One of the triplets sighed. "Si Erin, malapit ng ikasal kay Keenan. Si Leian, may pamilya na pati itong si Ianna. Heck! Even si Therine may lovelife na, tapos itong si Key tuloy parin sa paghahabol sa doctor na yon."

"Tindi rin ng fighting spirit! Iba."

Inisang lagok niya ang alak sa kanyang baso. She let the alcohol burn down her throat. "Yun na nga eh. Masaya na silang lahat, ako stucked parin sa paghahabol." Pagak siyang tumawa. "Last week... he kissed me." Pag-amin niya.

"For real?"

"Or you were just dreaming back then?"

Sinamaan niya ng tingin ang triplets. Napaka-supportive talaga kahit kelan. "Totoo nga! The night when Lj and I went to that concert. But..."

"But?" Everybody chorused.

She sighed sadly. "He called me Megan after the kiss."

Kanya-kanyang reaksyon ang kanyang mga kaibigan.

"That's why you're heartbroken to the extent that you dyed your hair." Ianna concluded.

"Wag niyo na ngang gawing issue ang buhok ko!" Saway niya. "So ayun nga... ang sakit." She faked a laugh. "Nakakainis. Isang linggo na pero ang sakit parin hanggang ngayon."

"Maybe it's a message that you should stop the chase."

Lahat sila ay napatingin kay Sierra.

"At some point, you have to accept defeat Key." Sierra smiled sadly at her. "You see, this chase is going nowhere. You keep on chasing him but he keep on hurting you in return. Umiikot lang kayo. There's no progress and it's been years of no progress."

Sierra's words has always made sense. And now, it's her turn to hear Sierra's words of wisdom and apply it.

"I can not afford to stop now." There goes her stubborn heart and mind again.

"You know you can, if you really want to." Sierra shrugged. "It's you who needs to stop, not him. Because from the very beginning he has done nothing to make you like him. Ikaw lang talaga itong mapilit."

"Ouch." Natawa siya doon. "Sakit ha?" But Sierra's words are true. Makulit lang talaga siya. Sierra has always beeen Sierra. She's not afraid to tell you the hurtful reality because she knows it's for the best. It's for your own good.
