Chapter Twenty

"Stop telling me what to do. You don't even held a spot in my life. You're just nothing."

Tears started to fall down her cheeks. Tumango siya. "I know. I understand."

Unti-unti siyang tumalikod dito. She started to walk away from him.

Isa.

Dalawa.

Tatlo.

Apat.

The rain pouring hard on her. Mariin siyang pumikit. Then she stopped. Pumihit siya paharap dito.

"Let me just say the words you failed to say." She gave him her best smile.
"Sana ako na lang yung namatay at hindi si M...megan." Her voice cracked. She bit her lower lip. Then she smiled like she isn't dying inside.

"This is the last time you'll see me. Sorry for the trouble."

Tumayo siya habang nakatungtong sa concrete barrier. She take slow steps. Nagpalakad-lakad siya sa ibabaw ng mga iyon. Then she stopped to face the whole city.

"Twenty seven years of existence. Not bad." She shrugged and smiled sadly. "But I just don't belong here anymore."

Tumalikod siya sa bangin na nasa kanyang harapan. Without further ado, she let herself fall. She didn't really jump, she just let herself fall, her back on the cliff. Her eyes facing the sky.

She can feel herself falling fast. Now, she only have to wait for the end of it.

She's falling and falling and falling.

Then she felt her head hit on a hard rock followed by her body. The unbearable pain crawled through her system.

She closed her eyes and everything went black.

She gasped for air as she open her eyes. Nasapo niya ang dibdib habang pilit hinahabol ang hininga.

She look around her sorroundings. She's in her room at her villa in Belladona. She touch her cheeks only to feel it wet. She's been crying.

"It's all a dream." She said softly to herself.

Then a pang of pain suddenly crept on her brain. Memories came crashing down her mind.

Nagsimula sa hospital kung saan niya unang nakilala si Chord. Kung paano siya nahumaling sa binata hanggang sa lumipat pa siya ng tirahan para lang maging kapitbahay ito.
Lahat ng efforts niya para mapansin ng binata. Iyong paglalagi niya sa hospital.

She clutch her head as it's starting to hurt even more.

Iyong pagsunod niya kay Chord kapag dumadalaw ito sa puntod ni Megan.

Megan.

Another flash of memory crept in, when she first entered his condo unit. Megan's pictures. Everything.

Mas lalo lang sumasakit ang ulo niya as the seconds go by. The pain is starting to be unbearable. Nanghihina niyang kinapa ang phone sa bedside table.

"Aw." She winced. Parang binibiyak ang ulo niya sa sakit.

Ala-ala ng mga salitang binitawan ni Chord noong minsang nag-inuman sila sa kanyang condo.

"I won't forget about her. Never."
