Chapter Sixteen

Napakunot siya ng noo nang mapagtantong hindi siya sa kanyang sariling unit pumasok.
He look around the room. Ilang linggo na ba siyang nagpapabalik-balik sa unit ni Key?

He sighed helplessly. Wala sa sariling dumiretso siya sa couch at naupo. Napahilot siya sa kanyang sentido. It's been a long day in the hospital.

Napabaling siya sa pader kung nasaan ang portrait ni Key. She is laughing at the portrait, looking carefree and bubbly.

Again, he sighed. "What are you doing to me woman?"

Ilang araw na ba siyang dumidiretso dito kada uuwi siya galing ng hospital? Minsan nga ay dito na siya nakakatulog. Kung anong nangyayari? Hindi niya din alam. He just found his self opening her unit everytime he goes home.

Doon niya rin napansin na hindi na siya nakakadalaw sa puntod ni Megan dahil dito nga siya dumidiretso pagkagaling ng hospital.

Pagod siyang sumandal sa couch at tumitig sa kisame. He was startled when his phone started vibrating.

"Hello?" He answered without looking at the caller id.

"Can I have a moment?" Said the one speaking on the other line.

Tinignan niya kung sino ang tumatawag. It was Doctor Hidalgo. Iyong nag-attend kay Key ng dalhin ito sa America.

"Yes doc?" He asked.

"About Key..."

Napaayos siya ng upo. He's been monitoring her condition eversince she left his hospital and Doctor Hidalgo is the one filling him up with the informations. Mabuti na lang at kakilala niya ang matanda kahit papano.

"She's still in coma but it seems like her body is starting to respond with the treatments she'd been given."

"That's a positive news then." He felt a ghost smile escape his lips. Napailing siya, what the hell is happening to him? Monitoring her condition is the thing he shouldn't be doing right now. But still, here he is.

"But she's been in coma for three months now. It's still a 50/50 situation. If her family allows, they can cut off the life support already but the family don't want to give up." Doctor Hidalgo explained.

Napatango siya. "Well, her body is starting to respond, that's a progress. Let's just hope for the best then."

"I'll keep you posted, I know you're challenged by the patient's case..."

Iyon nga lang ba talaga?

"I think, you'll be a great help with her condition. Pero mukang ayaw sa'yo ng mga kaibigan niya." Pagtatapos nito sa sasabihin.

Yeah. Her friends loathed him like he himself tried to kill Key. Napailing siya sa isiping iyon. "Thanks for the info Doc. Just keep me udpated." He said changing the topic.

"Okay then."

He ended the call. It's a good news. Malaki ang tsansang gumising muli ito. He absentmindedly smiled again.

"What in the world is happening to me?" He asked in the air.

Dahil wala siyang magawa dinampot niya ang remote at binuksan ang tv. Naka-connect parin ito sa internet at nasa YouTube channel ni Key.
Halos na-explore na niya ang bawat sulok ng unit ng dalaga. Napagalaman niya rin na sikat itong cosplayer sa Pilipinas at Japan. Ang she's quite famous, base narin sa views at subscribers ng Youtube channel nito.

Sinumulan niya ang panonood ng mga videos nito mula sa pinakadulo. From the time she's making her own cosplay attire... cooking her specialty which is the sushi and california maki... her numerous trips to Japan... her video challenges which includes finishing a bowl of ramen, trying to dance a hit dance craze... her videos showcasing her talent in playing the piano and singing... even her make up thing.
