The court...I thought. Great. The doors opened for both Leon and I as we entered. The court room was large, and has this map of the whole kingdom. Including Cenred's, one of Camelot's greatest enemy.

"Captain!" Uther greeted.

I gave him a nod, "My lord. What is in need of my presence?" I frowned when Arthur gave me that "smirk" which I know too well. He obviously had sent Leon to get me instead of getting me himself.

"As you may have known there is a threat on Camelot. Some of the villagers from the lower towns have reported that their children have gone missing and had glimpsed shadows lurking by at the dark." Uther explained.

"There is not much we can do, my lord. I suggest putting Camelot on curfew. No one is to be out after dusk, and perhaps line some guards near the perimeter of the lower towns." I gave him a bow.

"I agree with the Captain. This might stop after we put Camelot on curfew. And also lock the doors and have someone to guard their children." Arthur nodded, after pondering for a while.

"That can be arranged. Captain, would you watch over Camelot through the tower turrets this evening? I'll have Sir Leon to accompany you." Uther gestured at Leon.

I glanced at Arthur and he gave me another smirk. "Very well." I curtsied. There is no point in argueing with the King. Might as well have to agree with him instead.

"I'll take over the first watch." I said as I started for the door.

-

I climbed up the stairs to one of the turrets, and had promised the King for the first watch. While they celebrate. I had to put on my swordbelt, Abigail has insisted on it.

I whirled around when I heard someone approaching the turret. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that it was Leon. "It's you," I sighed.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Oh, nothing," I answered. Which was a total lie because...well, everything's wrong! "Actually, there is one thing." I began, "Earlier when Arthur asked me who I fancy which was a silly question perhaps, I told him that well...um...Camelot's my first priority, which always has been." I bit my lip, "But...it was a total lie."

He stepped closer to me. I tensed a bit. "You are a knight. You can't marry a Captain." I told him.

"Aurora...I-"

He never got his chance to say anything. The great bell rang and I darted to look from the turret. Only one horseman rode alone and is heading towards the castle.

"Halt!" I yelled.

I'm pretty sure he can hear me, because he looked up and was like...what?! A few minutes later, I arrived at the courtyard, where he stopped his horse snd dismounted from it.

"State your business." I demanded.

"A duel. To the death." He said in a robotic, and deep voice. He took off his gauntlet and threw it on the ground. "Tomorrow noon, in the pitch."

I bent down to pick it up, and looked at him, "Very well then. I'll see you tomorrow at noon." I agreed. I watched as he swung on his saddle again and kicked his horse to a canter.

-

I decided to bring news of this to the King, which is during the feast, and all the other knights were as confused as the King were. "There was a disturbance in the courtyard. One knight has challenged me to a duel. To the death. I have accepted it and it will be tomorrow at noon. In the pitch." I explained.

"Very well then." The King nodded.

I left the dining room, surprised to find Leon waiting outside. "What?" I asked.
"I can't let you do this." He said.

"Why not? I'm the Captain of the Royal Guard I can do anything I want. It's for the good of Camelot." I rolled my eyes as I journeyed down the feast room to my chambers. I wasn't surprised that he followed me all the way until I reached my chambers just to not let me join the duel tomorrow.

"It's my legacy. I do whatever I want." I repeated.

"Forfeit. For me." He told me.

I frowned, "I'm not doing it for you. Or me. I'm doing it for Camelot." I said, slamming the door of my chambers shut in his face.

-

I never really sleep since I was the Captain. I had spent my night in watching over Camelot, and sharpening my sword. I pretty much have half a day before the duel begin, and Merlin had approached me when I was walking across the courtyard at early dawn.

"Oh. Hi Merlin." I gave him my best smile, even though I never smiled ever before in my life. It's respect, alright? I noticed that in his hands that he was holding a cloth-covered object.

"Aurora!" Merlin grinned, but he caught himself and said, "I mean-um, hey." He blushed.

I giggled. I was so curious what he could be holding so I asked, "What's that in your hands?"

"Oh, this? I-t's for you, actually. It's a sword." Merlin answered.

"I have plenty of swords," I cracked a smile, taking the wrapped-in-cloth sword from his hands.

"This sword will help you win the duel." Merlin told me.

I lit up, "Really?" I gave him a hug, and tucked the cloth underneath my arm, "Thanks, Merlin. I'd better get prepared."

"Your welcome!" He called as I walked away.

I gave myself a smile.
