I was very lucky to have Sir Leon walk me back to my chambers, and since I needed company for a while along these darkened halls, I suddenly felt myself speaking to him, "I felt a connection. . Between the woman and I..she wasn't like the woman who hugged me back in the Throne Room..she was different."

"You have nothing to worry about. She's going to be executed at dawn. Isn't that what you want?" He asked me.

I gave him a shrug, "Yes, I do but..I'm not sure if it's me or just me following the laws of Camelot. By the way, how did you end up in Camelot anyway?" I think I was dying to know. He's probably mysterious. We rarely even talk to each other.

"I competed in the jousting tournament." He replied, "That was before you came, actually."

I climbed up the spiral stairs, "Well...I guess good night?" I felt awkward saying it to a man whom I don't even know though I am the Captain of the Royal Guard.

As I entered, I shut the door behind me, and let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness that's over. I passed the table, but since Abigail had probably had turned in for the night, I won't bother to change into my nightgown and just fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Throughout the night, the woman's eerie laugh lingers around my mind, with me tossing and turning unable to sleep because of that.

Just not long after the tiring nightmare, I jolted awake, breathing heavily, and sweating. That's when I realised it, it was morning, and I spotted Abigail rummaging through my closet for a new set of chainmail uniform.

When she saw me, she lit up. "Captain! You're awake! Thank goodness for the timing! The King wants you to be in the Throne Room this instant. He has exciting news he wants to share."

I took the chainmail uniform from her hands and stepped behind the divider to change as I removed the former uniform from my body and replaced it with the new set. Then I fastened my sword belt around my hip, sheathed my sword and wore my boots.

I rushed my way down the spiral stairs and the granite steps of the Camelot entrance, all the way to the Throne Room. I was already out of breath when I had ran across the courtyard, receiving strange looks from both villagers and guards.

I slowed myself down, took in a sharp breath and entered formally to the Throne Room. As usual, the Throne Room had the knights, Gauis, Gwen, Arthur and a few other court members, and Sir Leon was discussing a few scripts to Uther. When he saw me he gave me an uneasy look, which I did not know what that was all about.

The doors closed behind me and that's when Uther's attention shot up. "Captain! As you know I have called you for an important matter, and somewhat exciting news." He announced.

I bit my lip, and looked down at my boots.

"You will be engaged to Sir Leon, and your wedding will be next week." Uther announced, and I felt my heart dropped to my feet. I shot a glance at Leon, that's when a lightbulb shot off my head, he knew it all along.

"No!" I practically shouted.

Uther gave me a fierce look, "Are you questioning my orders?"

"I mean," I swallowed down a huge gulp of nervousness, "I'm not sure his family would approve...uhm.."

"His family has already approved. Unless you want me to strip you of your title, that is."

"No!" I shook my head, "Please..I-I'll do as you ask." I love my job, and being stripped off of it because of some dumb thing is so worthless. I mean, who would take my place? Arthur? Nope.

"Good. You are dismissed." Uther gestured at the door, which opened as I walked through it. Once no one is in the hallway, I burst into sobs.

I rounded a corner and bumped into Merlin. My tears cleared for the moment, but he probably already know what is going on, "Uther asked you to marry, huh?" He guessed.

I nodded, and wiped my tears with the back of my hand, "Now I am betrothed to a knight!" I sobbed.

"Let me guess, Sir Leon?"

I gave one nod as an answer, "I don't even know him!"

He pulled me into one reassuring hug, "Don't worry, I'll talk to Arthur and make him talk your way out of this."

"You're a good friend, Merlin."

"Obviously,"

"Stop." I rolled my eyes, laughing a bit.

"You're the Captain. You shouldn't be crying."

"I needed a good cry." I told him, giving him another tight hug before pulling away and went to the direction of where he had came from.

Which is the stables.
