Leon pushed me into my chambers and entered, closing the door behind him. "What do you think you're doing?" He hissed. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
"Lancelot would not have died if he has not sent me on such patrol you know that!" I practically shouted. "I would rather die than see more innocent people executed."
"Don't. We need you. I need you." He told me, almost pleading.
Finally I felt fury control me instead of myself, "Since when do you even need me? You only need me to lead a battle. And Camelot's only victories were because of me! Without me, you are nothing but just pathetic losers who execute innocent people everytime they see one."
My eyes searched around my chambers. Then spotted the sword I used to use before the one Merlin had given me, and grabbed it. I raised it up to him, "Fight me."
"I will not." He told me.
This time I pointed the tip of my sword at myself, "Then I will do so myself."
"No. Don't." He begged.
He stepped closer to me, putting his hand on mine which is holding the sword, and then lowered it, until he is the one who held it. He then drop it on the floor, and walked closer to me until we were a foot apart.
I could feel his breath down on me, I feel myself soften, letting his gloved hand stroke my cheek before wiping tears away. I didn't flinch when he crashed his lips against mine.
I returned his kiss, but we were interrupted by Merlin who burst into the room. Both of us pulled away from each other, embarrassed.
"The kingdom is on high alert," Merlin informed us.
"Who?" I frowned.
"We have no idea. The whole kingdom has fallen asleep." Merlin explained.
I shot a worried glance at Leon, who looked at Merlin, "All of them?"
Merlin nodded, "Except Arthur and Morgana."
-
The three of us rushed to Arthur's chambers, where Morgana and Arthur stood waiting anxiously. Both of them looked up and sighed in relief when they saw us.
"Aurora, Leon, glad both of you are alive," Arthur gave us a nod.
"What is happening to the people of Camelot? Why are they asleep?" I demanded.
"We don't know," Merlin stole a glance at Morgana, who was staring through a window.Morgana, a voice in my head told me.
"I need my sword." I told them,
"We leave Camelot. No one will stay alive if we stay in Camelot." I said, shooting an accusing glare at Morgana.
Arthur didn't hesitate to follow my orders. He knew I am still the Captain. The farther we are away from Camelot, the better we will feel.
Merlin handed me my sword belt, which I had quickly buckled around my hip. The five of us burst out of Arthur's chambers, running down the corridors. I led the group, and rounded a corner, but stopped in my tracks when a skeleton holding a sword walked towards us, bone-arm raised.
I slashed my sword at it, and it exploded to pieces of bones, I knew it wouldn't stay that way. "We have to hurry. That thing will be upon us." I told them.
I pointed to Morgana and hissed at Merlin, "We have to kill her. How?"
"Your sword," Merlin told me pointedly, "It is forged by the dragon's breath, nothing can stand up against it, not even Morgana herself." He whispered.
We passed asleep guards as we ran down the spiral stairs to the entrance. We stopped in our tracks when four skeletons each holding swords daintily walked towards us.
I let out a gasp, "Merlin, get to the stables and saddle the horses." I ordered. "Morgana, you go help him. We will take care of those bony soldiers."
I jumped down the granite steps of Camelot, and then advanced on the first skeleton. Damn this skeleton can pack a punch! I thought, raising my sword, then slash at it. Just like Merlin said, it exploded in bony pieces, and stayed that way.
"We have to kill the source of this dumb bones!" I yelled to the others, slashing at the other undead soldiers.
"Who is!" Arthur shouted over the sound of metal clashing against one another.
I dare not say Morgana. I don't know what to say, so I just shrugged and continued fighting them until Merlin and Morgana got the horses settled.
"Merlin! Are you done!" I forced myself to run to the stables with the skeleton soldiers on my tail.
The horses were saddled, thankfully. Morgana was looking as terrified, but Merlin knew better. I threw my sword to Merlin, who caught it perfectly."This ends now, Morgana," Merlin said, raising the sword before piercing it into her.
I could not bear to watch her slow death, as she eventually died to the pain of the dragon's breath.
Both of us led the horses out of the stables. When Arthur ask where Morgana is, Merlin simply lied and said, "She didn't make it out."
But then to our delight, the skeleton soldiers stopped attacking and exploded into bony structures. The villagers and guards lying on the courtyard soon started to slowly wake up.
