Neko Detectives

Act One: Aspirations

Kyoji's POV

I walk along the street, holding my backpack straps, hoping I'd find something interesting.

Mysteries always fascinated me, and I knew that I'd grow up to be a detective. For now, though, I have to walk my path of life and hope to find a nice case to solve. Although, cases weren't the only thing I needed. I needed love, preferably a human, someone to stroke me behind my ears and scratch me when I was itchy. I'm not a full cat, I'm a neko boy, going to a school with lots of humans. 

I continued to hum my little tune, think about my life, and my detective uniform, with has a small police revolver, mainly used by detectives, and handcuffs that work. I once chained myself to this piece of fish I was thinking of buying. That shopkeeper sure wasn't pleased with me!

Anyway, I've walked for about 20 minutes, halfway to my new high school, when I saw him. A boy, so adorable it hurt. His blond hair, his blue eyes, everything about him was perfect! I run over to him and introduce myself. "Hi, I'm Kyoji Hoshitani, nice to meet you." The boy looked at me smiled and said, "Hello there! I'm Aki Kanitago, it's nice to meet you too." I could see his eyes sparkle when he said this, and knew right away. "Aki, you think I'm cute, don't you? I can tell you do!" He blushed and smiled wider, but said nothing.

" I think you're cute too, don't worry!" And just like that, Aki came up to me and ruffled my hair, saying "Yes, you'll do.. You'll do..." I had a boyfriend, just like that.

Later that day, I told Aki of my aspirations. Of how I need to be a detective, and am destined to do so. "I want to be a detective. No, I NEED to be a detective, I don't think I'm cut out for anything else." Aki looked at me and smiled. He smiles a lot. It makes him even cuter.

"I want to be a detective, too. I'll work where you do, we can be detectives together! But wait... what case are you working on now?" 

I frown. "Well, none, actually. Do you have any?" I ask. Apparently, he didn't' either. That very second we started the Hoshitago Detective Agency, a combination of Hoshitani and Kanitago.
