Aki's POV

I can't believe it.

I can't believe he'd do me like this.

I deny who I am to be with him, and he repays me like this. He gets with a girl. All the things I've done for him, and this is what I get. I'm so mad I can't even do my work properly. I keep typing Kyo- I mean Hoshitani's name. I start to remember the times we've spent together, like our first date.

YEAR: 1994

"Kyo, wait up!" I shouted as I ran for Hoshitani. He looks behind him, and sees me running and waving because he got so far ahead. I don't even know why he was making such a big deal out of it, we were only going to get ramen, go see a movie, then take a boat out on a lake. It's nothing really fancy, except maybe the boat. "Sorry, Aki! I'm just excited!" he shouts back.

That's surprising. He's this excited over our date that's not even really a date. Friends do this stuff all the time. Well, if he's excited, it's not like me to put him down. I catch up to him, wheezing, because I've never been a good runner. "O-okay *pant* lets go *pant* inside now. *cough* *wheeze*" I breathe. "Are you sure you're okay? I mean, you look really bad..." he said.

I remember Hoshitani got all scared whenever it seemed like something was wrong with me. "I don't want to lose you, I need you at my side." he would always say. Funny, considering he's making away with girls on the side. When we got into the restaurant, Hoshitani wanted shoyu ramen, because this shop's shoyu had pieces of sushi and seafood dumpling in it.

I got pork ramen, and soon we were stuffed up, so we went to see our movie. It was some anime movie, based off a video game, I forget the name, and Hoshitani fell asleep on my shoulder halfway through. I enjoyed the rest of it, though, and we went on our way to the lake. We rented a kinda big wooden boat. The funniest part about it was, Hoshitani caught a fish, but the fish flopped out of the bucket. It flew straight up in the air, and landed smack on the boat, not in the bucket, but on a flimsy wooden board, which I assume was a patch for a hole.

Well, the fish broke the board, and suddenly our boat was a slowly sinking disaster. The hole got too big to contain. We were in the middle of this lake, which was huge. The lake was probably 3 miles in all directions. Our life preservers weren't going to do much about this lake, since there were huge currents in the water this time of year. We got so scared, and we screamed for help. I don't know what we were thinking, we were 2 miles from the closest land. The fish jumped overboard, and I could almost hear it saying, "So long, suckers! I just sunk your boat and dipped."

At this point, the water had soaked out feet and the boat was going down. We didn't want to jump out because of the currents, but we couldn't just stay there either. But either way, we were going to get in a current, and we were going to die. Hoshitani and I shared one last bit of affection, and said our goodbyes. "Goodbye, Kyo. You've been awesome to me, and I do this to you. I'm so sorry, but I want you to know I love you." I said sadly. Now it began to rain. "Great, now the currents will get all riled up." I said. But Hoshitani wasn't listening, because he'd just passed out on the floor. The one idea we hadn't thought of. Laying on the ground. I thought we might have a chance for life.

I took it. I got the oars and started rowing at any direction, at this point I didn't care. As long as we don't die. I was worried Hoshitani might drown, but I couldn't worry about that right now. Our boat was halfway underwater, and the rain didn't help, especially since I had to get past the currents. But one current in particular was going super fast, I'm talking 100 miles per hour, and I thought, we'll get to land, sure, but what will happen when the current smashes us against some rocks, or a bridge? What about Hoshitani, who might break his nose. I had barely 10 seconds to think about this though, because in the distance I saw a dock.

We started going faster and faster... and then we hit land.

We didn't just hit land, we zoomed onto it at breakneck speed. Our little boat soared over a building, and then came the descent. I had very little reaction time, but I quickly grabbed Hoshitani and sat him up. The boat nose-dived, and soon the water got in Hoshitani's eyes. He woke up, eyes stinging, but generally okay. He saw what was happening and freaked out.

And then came the crash.

Remember how I said friends do this all the time? I'd give you a million yen if you can bring me someone who's had a fish sink a boat and then ride a current into the sky. Crash. Our boat was destroyed, but we were okay. We weren't hurt, but it felt like it. My feet were killing me. The funny part is, we landed in the middle of a bustling marketplace, so imagine some dudes just crash into existence on a broken boat.

We hauled the pieces back to the rental shop, and explained what happened, and I thought he wouldn't believe me, but surprisingly, he believed some of it. All we had to do fix the boat. I still have it in my closet to this day. I don't dare to ever take it out on the water, we probably didn't do well fixing it. Maybe I'll take Hoshitani out on it, if we ever leave this place. Well, back to my report.
