Aki's Pov

I met a neko boy yesterday, and I instantly fell in love. Besides him being cute, we have so much in common! We both need to be detectives, and that's what led to he opening of our detective agency.

"You know, Aki, our stand is kinda dull. We need something that will make visiting the agency a comfortable and personal experience!" said Kyo one day, while he was over my house. I live alone, and so does he, so he pretty much just lives here now. "And what do you suppose would do that?" I asked him. "I dunno... Ah! I've got it! We can have cake for the clients! Remember that one lady who turned us down because we didn't have snacks for her? Problem solved!"

I look at him. He doesn't look like he's joking, he looks excited. "Alright then, I'll bake a cake." I tell him. I rummage through my cabinet, pulling out ingredients for cake. I begin mixing the batter I made, laughing as I see Kyo running after a ball of yarn. I left it out after taking an online knitting class, for no reason other than I had yarn and I wanted to use it.  I poured the batter into a cake pan and put it in the oven, smiling as I see Kyo asleep, most likely tuckered out after his playtime.

I go to the refrigerator and get him some fish, wondering why I love him so much. I've never known myself to be gay, yet I never want to leave his side. Why do I feel this way? Maybe I really am gay, but I just don't know it. Whatever the case, I leave Kyo his fish and check on the cake. It's nearly done now. That was fast!

When I pull the cake out of the oven, I see Kyo spring up. He perks and ear and picked up his fish with his mouth. He comes over, drops his fish, and attacks it. "Alright, Kyo, ready to taste some?"

It was a rhetorical question. "Why'd you even ask? Of course I want some!" I cut him a slice, and he begins to eat it. His eyes open wide, and he frowns, fork still in his mouth. "You're not about to tell me how good it is, are you?" I ask glumly. "It tastes good, but it's dry as a bone!

"Ah, I should've warned you, I'm not a great baker. But wait'll you try my cooking! It's awesome!"  I tell Kyo. "That doesn't change the fact that we're feeding our clients a block of vanilla with frosting on it! We can't give them this! They'll break their teeth." he rants. "I thought you said it was dry, not hard. Let me see." I taste it, and it IS dry, but I can bite it, no problem. "We infuse the slices with milk to make them moist. How about that?" I say. "Yes, milk! We put milk! Milk, milk, milk..."

We get and eye dropper and use it to moisten the cake with milk. Afterwards, Kyo downs the whole jug. I've never seen someone drink a whole pint of milk. We set out the cake and sit at our stand, admiring the cool, crisp, refreshing night air. I'm a cold person, and so is Kyo, so night is the perfect time to be out. We get a few clients, but in they end they decided not to go with us. We decided not to give them our cake. Then, a middle school boy came to us with interesting news, and hired us to investigate on the spot. to be continued...
