Aki's POV
I see a man walk over to Kyo and hit him with a shotgun. I could have swore it was Kando if I didn't know Kando was still at the police department.
As he walked towards me, I got super scared. I didn't care who this guy was, as long as he doesn't kill me. So I bolted. With great strides I ran to the satellite. I climbed up on it and, nimble as a cat (no pun intended) I ran on a pole. Rushing down the pole, I see a platoon of people. As I jump down, a cop makes me fend off the public.
As I try to hold off the hoard of people, getting quite angry comments, A news crew shows up. "Shit! Now they're gonna be on my ass," I say as they push their way to the front of the crowd. "Ma'am, you can't be here. This is not open to the public. Ma'am!" I try to tell her. She continues her illegal activities of telling the news. I feel bad I have to tell her to leave. Until she sees my 'Head Investigator: Case KI-3' and she suddenly wants everything about me. "Sir! Can we have a quick word with you?"
*Sigh*. I guess being on TV would be cool. Although its not particularly legal to tell the mass media about our investigations. "Sure. What do you want? You do realize people just got killed here right? You need to leave the detectives alone." I say, threateningly. "As you can see, the detectives aren't feeling kindness these days. The All-Night-Fight-Crime Campaign has taken a lot out of them," she says, almost hurtfully. I bow my head in shame. "I sowwy," I say to the camera. Then I smile. "Hahahaha!" I burst out laughing.
A very perplexed newscaster says to the TV people. "Looks like this one had too much coffee!" she says enthusiastically. "Now, onto more serious matters, this scruffy detective will tell us all about the case!" she says. "Bitch, I ain't scruffy," I mutter under my breath. "All I can tell you is, we were investigating this place as part of a larger investigation when the group began to blow up the satellite tower. People inside the office were either crushed or impaled. Bye-bye!" I finish cutely and walk away.
As she continues to report, even though I told her not to, another explosion happens. The lady with my coat comes out and gives it to me. "I ran fast as I could, but there was another explosion!" she says shakily. The coat is literally on fire, but I don't care about that right now. All I care about is Kyo! He's still in there, unconscious with a killer inside there! I pull out my gun, which burns my hand more than it already is. I run to where the satellite crashed through the ceiling, and see Kyo. The fire hasn't reached him yet, thank you! But I can see he's hurt bad. It appears he's woken up.
Just think about the ramifications of this! Half the detectives can't go back to work for a while, and the other half can't go into crime scenes. As I pick Kyo up, there was another explosion, blocking off all exits. Except, the vents! I shoot the grate and crawl in. Kyo does the same. We crawl in silence, and soon, we find a place we can get out. Unfortunately, the way out is stairs going up.
"Well, we gotta book it up them there stairs, ain't it?" says Kyo. He sounds so weak and helpless, and I can barely resist the urge to take his pants off. "When we get back, we're going to fuck," I say, kinda pervy-like. Kyo blushed and put his ears back. Damn, he's adorable. "Haha, let's go, you little bastard," he says, and I fall out of my Kyo-trance. We run up the stairs and onto the roof. Crap. The only way out, I realize as another explosion happens, is to jump off the roof. Kyo sees this as well. "I've got nine lives!" he says teasingly, and I can't help but smack him. Ouch, that made by burns, well, burn.
As I approach the edge, I order my detectives to come and catch me. "You'll be okay, right?" he asks. When he said that, it flashed me back to the boat story. "You're okay, right?" he had said. Wow. He acts tough, but he still sounds weak. "Kyo, go first," I tell him. He looks at me. "No, it's okay, Aki! I'll be fine. You can go first." I'm starting to get kinda sad at how weak he is. It turns me on at the same time.
"Go first, and that's an order." I command. When he still doesn't budge, I push him off. After ten seconds, I jump too.
I'm lucky to live. They just barely tried to catch me. If they were any more unprepared, they'd be walking away! I can see the fire department, not making any progress. Well, depends on what you wanted them to do. If you wanted them to spray the people inside and break the windows, they were doing awesome. Not sure about actually putting out the fire. As they were sending in a search and rescue team, we saw someone from inside running away. I was instantly suspicious.
This person didn't look like they were an office worker. More like an agent for this gang trying to do stuff. In fact, there was an explosion right before I saw him. I ran after him, being stealthy with it, and then tackled. I arrested him, and sent him away. Eventually, it was clear these firemen were done with the search and rescue, and the fire wasn't gonna be out soon, so we all retreated. I told the fire chief that for the next two days, the building was his.
Back at the agency, the nurse cleaned me up, I took a shower, and washed my clothes. Then Kando asked me to wash his shirt. Something about spilling coffee on it...
