I nocked one arrow, aimed and released. It flew through the air silently and landed on the target's bull's eye. I jumped when a hand landed on my shoulder and let out a scream.

I turned to find Arthur looking at me, smirking, "You're improving well, Captain." He told me.
"You're complimenting yourself or me?" I rolled my eyes.

"You are Camelot's one and only Captain. Fierce, and courageous and-"
"Arrogant," I put in, laughing to myself. "You never compliment anyone but yourself."

"I didn't see the first shot. Do it again, won't you?" Arthur chuckled and handed me an arrow.
"Fine," I scoffed, accepting the arrow, nocked, aimed, then released it. Again it flew through the air. But then my expression changed when a knight was passing by and the arrow was about to hit him.

I let out a horrified gasp and quickly rushed to him, stopping the arrow mid-air with my hand. That's when he glanced up from his papers, and looked at me.

"Sorry," I apologised, "I should have seen you before releasing the arrow." My hand holding the arrow lowered. "Are you hurt?"
The edge of his lips curved into a smile when he saw me.

"No, and thank goodness for that," I pushed back a strand of my hair behind my ear, and cleared my throat, "Um..you didn't realised the arrow was coming, did you?" I asked him.

"Not at all. I was busy reading these papers." He answered. "And what arrow?"
I showed him the arrow I held in my hand, "This arrow. It was about to hit you."

"You saved me then." He chuckled. "I've come to fetch you, the King requests your presence in the Throne Room."

"I have to clean up first." I walked past him, and plucked the arrow from the target and went back to where Arthur stood to get the quiver and bow.

He let out a laugh when I arrived, "Found a new lover?" He teased.

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes, "Don't you have to prepare for the meeting in the Throne Room?" I asked him, taking in his chainmail uniform when he's supposed to wear a regular set of tunic and trousers.
"Keep me posted!" He shot me a wink before jogging back up the stairs.

I entered the armory and placed the bow and quiver of arrows in the corner of the room, and I jumped again and almost hit my head against an overhead mace when I heard someone call my name.

I turned and found Sir Leon coming into the armory holding his papers, he looked guilty calling me and the surprise had made me bump my head into a hanging mace.

"I apologise for shocking you." He said, coming in. "Did it hurt badly?"
I let out a laugh and rubbed my head, "No, it's my fault. I should have seen where I was going. I'm so clumsy." I sighed.

"Why would the King want me in the Throne Room?" I asked. "Is it another court meeting?"
"Yes," He nodded. "He doesn't like people who are late."

I gave another roll of my eyes, "It's a long way to the Throne Room."
He nodded, "It's long enough to get to know you a little better."

"What are you talking about? You're already my friend for as long as I could remember," I rolled my eyes comically.
