Eight- Damn Pictures

Sandra's POV

"Sandy." Elle called me. She used to call me 'Sandy' and I don't know why. The first time she called me 'Sandy' I asked her why but she just shrugged on me and said, "Wala lang. I find it cute." 'Yan ang sabi nya. Naalala ko tuloy si Sandy ng spongebob. Haha.

"Bakit?" I asked. She smiled at me. She's pretty. Really. I wonder bakit wala syang boyfriend.

"Let's hang out." She said.

I smiled to her, "Uh. Let's see. Kailan ba?"

"Saturday. Let's go shopping." She said. As long as I want to say yes. I can't. I promised to Adam na magdedate kami that time.

"Oh. Sorry to reject you, Elle. But I'm no longer available on Saturday." I said casually.

She frowned, "What? Why?" She asked and she cross arms.

I smiled to her, "Sorry. But me and Adam have a date."

"Is that so? Uh. Okay. Mabye next time will do?" She said while smiling.

I nodded my head on her, "Sure." I said.

Today is saturday. I went down stairs and I saw my mom and dad on our living room.

"Hey mom and dad." I said.

"Hello sweetie." My dad said. I kissed them on their cheeks.

"Day off?" I asked and they both nodded. They looked so serious, "What's up? Both of you looks serious." I said.

"Sit down, Cassandra." My dad said. He called me 'Cassandra'. It must be serious.

"Why? Is there any problem, Dad?" I asked. I'm so nervous right now. Minsan lang nila akong tawaging 'Cassandra' kapag seryosong seryoso na ang sasabihin nila.

"You are aware that you're too young, right?" He said. I slightly nodded on him.

"And you also knew that we don't want you to have a boyfriend at your age." He said again. Relationship issues again? But this time mas kinakabahan ako. Bakit? Kasi hindi ko sinabi sakanila na may nanliligaw sakin dahil hindi nila ako papayagan.

I nodded on him again, "I don't have one, Dad." I said.

His face became more serious, "Mind to explain what is the meaning of these pictures, Cassandra?" He called me 'Cassandra' again. He's still calm but I know he's angry right now.

My heart's beating so fast. 'Yung mga paru paro sa tiyan ko nagwawala na. Picture namin 'yun ni Adam na magkasama. 'Yung iba nakahawak ako sa braso nya. 'Yung iba papasok kami sa cinema at 'yung iba naglalaro kami sa arcade tapos.. basta madami.

Kung sino man ang gumawa sakin nito, nakakainis ka. Arrrgggh! Sasabihin ko naman e. Kaso hindi ngayon. Bwisit naman oh!!

"D-dad..." I looked on them and gulp, "That was A-adam. My classmate." I said.

"You're classmate, huh?" He said.

Relax lang Sandra. Breathe in, breathe out. Wooooh!

"O-okay. That is Adam. N-nanliligaw." I said. Wala na akong kawala. Damn that person who took these damn photos!

"Patigilin mo sya, Cassandra. Bawal ka pa." He said seriously.

Napanganga na lang ako, "But, Dad."

He sharply looked at me, "No more buts. Go to your room. Now!"

"No! You can't do this to me, Dad!" I said.

"I can show him to you. He's responsible. He's talented. He's smart." I said. No, hindi ko sya pwedeng patigilin dahil masaya ako sakanya.

"Go back to your room. Now!" He said.

I looked to my mom but nakatingin lang sya saakin. Padabog akong tumayo at naglakad pabalik sa kwarto ko.

I fished out my phone on my pocket. I text him na hindi ako pwedeng lumabas ngayon dahil alam na nila Daddy. Hindi ko sila maintindihan. Noon, kulang na lang ipakasal nila ako sa anak ng best friend nya and now pinagbabawalan nya ako. Bakit? Kasi si Steven 'yung gusto nya para sakin at wala ng iba? O may iba pang dahilan? Wala na akong maisip na ibang dahilan para hindi sya pumayag kay Adam. He's a good catch.

I looked at my phone when I heard its ringtone. It's Adam.

"Adam." I said.

[What happened, Cass?]

I sighed, "They already knew."

[What? How?] He asked.

I already told him na bawal pa ako pero nagpumilit sya. Gusto nyang ligawan din sila Mommy at Daddy pero sabi ko 'wag na. Ilang beses nya akong kinulit pero hindi ako nagpatalo kaya ayan.

"Someone sent them pictures."

[What? Sino naman ang gagawa nun?]

I sighed again, "I don't know, Adam. Wala naman akong kaaway o nakakagalit."

Wala na akong ibang maisip na dahilan kung bakit nya 'yon ginawa. Last time I check wala akong nakakaaway o nakakagalit.

[Wala ka bang nakakaaway o nakakagalit?]

"Wala!! Adam.."

I heard him sighed on the line, [Let's talk about it on monday, okay? Don't think too much. We can handle this.]

"Okay. I know. Bye."

I was about to end the call when he called me.

[Ahm, Cass?]

"Hmmm?"

[I love you.]

The call ended after he said it. I smiled on it. Somehow, I felt okay. Three words and all of a sudden my mood was changed.

I opened my eyes when I heard knocks on the door. I looked at my wall clock, it's already 7pm.

"Sandra.." Napatingin ako sa nagsalita at sa nagbukas ng pintuan. Si mommy pala.

"Bakit po?" I asked.

She smiled at me at umupo sa kama ko, "Pagpasensyahan mo na kami kanina ha? Pinoprotektahan ka lang namin. Bata ka pa, anak."

I smiled to her, "I know, Mommy. But I'm happy with my life. I'm happy with him."

"Anak. Ang bata bata mo pa para dyaan. Intindihin mo na lang kami ng daddy mo. Makinig ka samin. Kasi anak kung kayo, kayo talaga hanggang sa huli. Kahit hindi kayo magkatuluyan ngayon kung nakatadhana kayo para sa isa't isa? Magiging kayo sa huli. Pero ngayon.. 'wag muna ha?"

I nodded my head on her, "Yes, mommy." I'm sorry, mom. I love you but I'm happy with him.  I'm sorry kung sususwayin ko kayo. I'm really sorry.

We'd just cuddled for some minutes before we went to dining area, "Hey Kuya and Dad." I said and kissed them.

"How's your school, lil sis?" Kuya asked.

"Good." I said and he nodded.

We ate silently and I went straight to my room. I closed my eyes to relax. 1 hour had passed when I heard my door opened. I stay still. Naramdaman kong may umupo sa gilid ng kama ko.

"Princess." He said. It's my dad. Hinahaplos nya 'yung mukha ko. I pretend that I'm sleeping.

"I'm sorry of what happened earlier. Unica Hija kita. Ayokong masaktan ka. Mahal na mahal kita, anak. Pero masyado ka pang bata para makipagrelasyon. Maiinitindihan mo rin kami ng mommy mo. I love you, anak. Good night." He said and kissed my forehead before he stormed out of my room.

I opened my eyes and looked on the door, "I'm sorry, Dad. I love you too."
