So the poems get better later on in the book when I've had more practice. Thank you for reading!

I'm drowning in my sea of sorrow
There is no colour in the coral
My lungs are burning
I'm fighting
I'm twisting
I'm  turning

I scream as loud as I can

Not a soul hears me; not a child, woman or man

The battles we fight are silent

Always there, always defiant

And though I'm trying to fly
My attempts seem to die

As I fumble with the right words
And am swept away by the herds

I know not where I am
In a different world, I stand
