Chapter Eighteen

I grabbed another section of hair and wrapped it around the curling iron and let it go a few seconds later. I had almost finished making the loose curls around my head, thankfully without burning myself, and now it was time for my makeup. I didn't want the "Hayden look" but I didn't want to just slap some mascara and leave, like I normally did.

In the end, I opted for a light layer of concealer, mascara, and a hint of bronzer. Since it was still winter time, my face looked even more abnormally white than it usually is. I had gotten so use to the California sun that when I moved here to Oregon, I had forgotten that the rest of the world experiences seasons like Fall and Winter.

I still hadn't figured out what I was going to wear and I was begin to stress about it. Aiden would be here in an hour and I wasn't sure if I should really dress up or go casual.

Look at me, getting anxious and nervous over a boy. It's as if I'm beginning to live a normal life.

Just as I was about to make a volcano of a mess with my closet, I heard my phone buzzing.

It was a text from Aiden.

Aiden: I'll be there in 20. Wear clothes you don't care about

Okay I was just about to destroy ever article of clothing I owned to try to look nice tonight and now he's telling me to do the complete opposite of looking nice?

Me: Wait why? Where are we going?

Not even a minute passed before I received another message.

Aiden: You'll see

Great. Now I had to find something that I apparently didn't mind getting dirty but still  try to look presentable. I think this might actually be harder than trying to look cute.

I went to my sweats drawer and found an old pair of tights I hadn't worn in a while, which was odd considering I try to get rid of things I don't use as often as possible to pack up quick if I need to leave.

I put the tights on and paired it with a white, loose fitting semi-crop top, some combat boots, and a black, waist length pea coat. It wasn't a typical first date type of outfit but I hope it's okay for wherever we're going.

I grabbed my things and peeked out the door and yelled out to Hailey, "Hail! Do you have all your things ready? We're leaving soon."

"Yeah I've got them." She responded.

Tyler and I weren't on bad terms but since he decided to go back into his fuck buddy ways, I wasn't comfortable leaving my little sister in the house with him anymore. So while I go out, she's going to sleep over her friend's house.

After triple checking that I had everything I needed, I went down stairs and guess who was down stair with my little sister? I mean I know he lives here and everything but whenever I go out he's always there to interrogate me, which is exactly what he did.

"Where you guys going?" He asked.

"Hailey did you get your toothbrush?" I asked, completely ignoring his question.

"Mmm I think?" She said, sounding unsure.

"Go check."

I went back to check, again, if I had everything when Tyler asked again, "So where are you guys going?"

"I'm dropping off Hailey for a sleep over while I go on a date." I said, as nonchalantly as I possibly could.

"You're going on a date?" He furrowed his brow, clearly not liking the idea.
