Chapter 9

Songs for this chapter- Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift and LIttle White Lies by One Direction

Taylor's POV

"I don't think that would be a good idea," I mention to Harry as I pack my bags.

"Why? I haven't seen you since our day out and I would like to spend the day with you. Cmon," I could tell he was pouting, even over the phone.

"I am just not ready for the publicity. Do you realize how much attention this will draw?" I half lie.

The publicity thing was true mostly because of the way Cory would feel if he say the tabloids of Harry and I together. I also didn't want to deal with all of Harry's little fangirls hating me again, I mean they always have but I don't need that while I am trying to make my decision of whether or not to move on. But the main reason was because Cory had already offered to pick me up from the airport so i jumped at the offer. Besides Harry had asked to late or I would have taken that chance.

"I suppose, but can we atleast hang out that day? Even if it's just at my apartment, a movie night of sorts. It could be fun," Harry requests.

"Fine. That we can do," My guilt was partly the reason that I gave in.

"Great! Give me a call when you get in and have a safe flight," He says in a concerned tone.

"Alright. Goodbye Harry," I say and then I hang up.

I didn't understand my guilt to be completely honest. Harry had hurt me so many times this really shouldn't be a big deal, especially because I was even giving him his hundredth chance to prove something. It was like I had a problem cutting him off and that was bad. I swore to myself I would never go back and here I am again, falling in the small pit that is Harry Styles. But there were so many things that masked who he truly was. Too much of the positive and charm would overflow past all of the pain he put me through. I think all I wanted was an apology. Not just an 'I'm sorry' but something more. Something to show me that he was truly done with acting the way he normally did. I needed him to show me I could depend on him. I needed him but in a different way then he thought. I needed the kind and caring Harry who had pulled me out of the water just seven years ago.

"Smart idea," I huff as soon as I slide into the car.

"Yeah I just thought having someone come and get you would be just enough. I don't need us as the latest scandal in the newspaper," Cory reasons.

"Thank you! Do you need directions to my apartment?" I question as I push a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Actually I was thinking we could grab some lunch first," He tells me.

"Really? We don't have to," I say.

"It would be my pleasure," He replies with a smile.

We then proceed to travel down the street to the nearest cafe. It surprisingly wasn't busy due to the fact that it was a Saturday. No one seemed to pay attention to my entrance which was good. Cory requested a secluded table and his guards piled around us as we sit in the booth.

"So what brings you to New York? I thought you had more European tour dates," Cory brings up as soon as the waitress brings us some coffee.

"Yeah but I have a two week break, then I head to Germany," I say with a small smile.

"Really? I'm going to spend a week or two here helping One Direction with their tour. I take it you guys are friends,' He says and then stirs his coffee.
