(About the image: I'd personally say Chica XD)

Last night you continued on your game, and you were rather pleased to say all the characters were finished, beasts and all. After everything was wrapped up you went to sleep, it was later than usual but you slept in to make up for it.

You went to work happy, having a skip in your step as you approached the door leading inside. Cosette wasn't there yet so you took your laptop with you behind the register and turned on the neon Open sign.

(B/F) always looked like a slug in the morning, but this particular one she said she might have a job offerーthat meant she was happy and looked more like a puppy. You told her that was good news, and if it was a good paying job she'd enjoy, she should try hard to get it. She just rolled her eyes and said she always tried if she wanted something.

Opening the laptop once more, you checked the document to see what you needed to do. The entire storyline was worked out already, and it was a relatively lengthy one at that. You could either work on the scenery or the few problems you'd run into. After some careful pondering you decided to work out the kinks and read each one to think about.

You were so engrossed, you didn't notice Cosette enter. She simply gave you a anxious look you didn't see and went to go set up the game in the corner. You heard the noise she was making and glanced up, taking in her raggedy appearanceーshe always appeared that way, but you felt raggedy too wearing the simple outfit you wereーbefore returning to deep thought.

The day was just as uneventful as the previous ones, but at least you were halfway through the week. Weekends didn't differ too much from weekdays, the only real difference being weekdays you worked and weekends you worked but didn't get paid.

The door opened so you tilted the screen to see someone walk in. It was Mark, back again but in a more coordinated outfit. You didn't view him as a customer so you didn't shut your laptop completely, but you still gave him your attention and greetings.

"Hello Mark," you said.

"Hey there (Y/N)," he smiled brightly. His smile was a lot different than Cosette'sーhers was like a ray of sunshine while his seemed warm and inviting. Your smile was.....you didn't know, you didn't smile enough to be able to tell. Your coworker got up to greet him and ask why he was visiting.

"I was looking for ideas," he responded, looking around the shop at the variety of games piled on the shelves.

"For what to play? Hmm..." Cosette scurried around, checking random shelves and scanning the names of the video games. Nothing seemed to catch her eye so she just kept dancing around, hopping across the floor like there was lava everywhere but in those select few spots in which her shoes made contact with the carpet.

"Wait, (Y/N), what did you say your game was called?" She stopped, whipping to face you.

"It's Not The Fall, It's The Sudden Stop," you answered, confused.

"Yeah! Mark, you should play that game!"

"It's not even made yet," you protested, but your voice went unheard.

"What's it about?" Mark asked, looking over at you with curious eyes. You gestured to the comfy chair by the PlayStation games.

"You might want to take a seat, I'm bound to give a very lengthy description." He listened, and once he was settled and waiting for your explanation, you spoke.

"...............and that is all." You finished after 7 straight minutes of talking.

"That's so cool!" He exclaimed, making your eyebrows raise.

"What makes it so appealing?" Marketing strategies, you could use some information on that.

"Everything!"

"That's nearly impossible, there must be something that didn't sound as interesting as other parts."

He thought awhile, and while he did, you dragged your finger across the touchpad to wake the screen. "I liked the storyline."

"Ok." So maybe, as a description, put the storyline. "Any other tips for improvement?"

"Make sure the controls aren't wonky," he grinned.

"Will do," you made a note of that on your laptop.

"Since her game won't be out for a while, here's one you can play now," Cosette handed him an Xbox game.

"I'll buy this then. How much is it?" He took it from her.

"$10"

"Cosette, they're supposed to be-"

"Those 5 extra bucks are on the house," she said, cutting you off.

"If you want to put $5 in the cash register, otherwise he has to pay full."

"(Y/N)! You don't understand, he's Markip-"

"A normal guy that can pay the full price, don't worry about it Cosie," Mark offered her a smile and walked over to you to pay. Cosette just stared at you with disappointment as you gave him change for a twenty. As you closed the tray of cash, you blew out a thin line of air.

"I didn't make him pay tax, if it makes you feel any better." Her eyes lit up again and you shook your head. "Have a good day Mark."

"Thanks, you too (Y/N)." He headed towards the door, calling over his shoulder "Bye Cosette!" She waved as the door swung shut behind him, and once he was out of sight of the shop's glass front windows, she spun to you.

"You like him." The statement surprised you so much your jaw nearly dropped.

"No, I don't."

"The fact that you're denying it means I'm right," she teased.

"No, it means I do not have any form of romantic feelings for him."

"Why are you blushing then?"

"I'm not blushing." You frowned at her, unamused by her kiddish behavior. You never blushed, and even if you did you'd be able to tell if your face was red right? "I'd start taking care of the consoles over there, we're closing up in 10 minutes." You turned your attention back to your game making as she sighed and went to do as you suggested. You and Mark were not too much alike, at least you didn't think so. You'd only known him a little while but he seemed like one of those laid-back gamers that was pretty entertaining to be around but didn't help you get things done.

"What's Mark like?" You asked aloud.

"You are interested in him!" Cosette chimed.

"Just answer the question." As she chattered, you listened to all the things she said with an almost prideful air. You were correct, you and Mark were not alike, and that meant definitely not compatible.
