This was it, the first time you were going to put in your contacts after many years without them. It felt like a big moment in time though it wasn't, so it took a little bit for you to finally balance one of them on the end of your index finger and pour a couple drops into it. Stretching your eyelids apart, you placed the contact on your eyes and pulled both hands away. You blinked a couple times, feeling the familiar sensation of the excess solution sliding out of your eyes and trailing tracks down your cheeks.

After removing the second one from its packaging, you followed the same steps to put it in your other eye. Once both were in, you looked around. Everything was clear, clearer than with your glasses in. Not visiting the eye doctor meant not updating your glasses, but your guess of a little stronger of a prescription for your contacts was right on, you could see as perfectly as a human could.

You went down to the kitchen to get yourself some food and (B/F) stared once her eyes landed on you. You let her check you out without glasses, but after a minute you thought she'd been staring long enough.

"What do you think?" You asked, turning to face her.

"You look really weird," she mumbled before stuffing a spoonful of cereal in her mouth.

"A good kind of weird or a bad kind?" You took your oatmeal from the microwave and stirred it with a spoon, blowing on it to cool it faster.

"I don't know."

You assumed she was still waking up and left it there. "I'm headed off to work once I finish breakfast. What are your plans for today?" She shrugged, shoveling more food in her mouth. You didn't think she was going to answer until...

"I got another job offer, a much more exciting job. It pays pretty good too, so I guess I'll check it out."

"Good," you flashed her a small smile before finishing up your oatmeal and putting your dishes in the sink. "If you have time, could you do the dishes?"

"Sure."

"Thank you (B/F)." Then you were out the door and going to 5 Lives.

Upon arriving, you parked in a random spot and went inside, seeing Cosette had beat you here. Cosette may've been unmotivated, but it always amazed you how she got to work on time every timeーsave for a few exceptions throughout the years.

"So what's new with you and Mark?" Her question made you look up at her suspiciously. You still thought she might've talked to Mark and did something to make him avoid you on Sunday. It was Thursday, the day before your date with the YouTuber, and you were looking forward to it. You weren't sure why, but maybe it was because you felt free after finishing INTF and needed to do something to celebrate besides watch (B/F) play your game.

"I'm going on a date with him tomorrow," you said carefully, not sure if you should tell that to Cosette. Her eyes became sparkly as she jumped up and down.

"I knew this would happen!" She proclaimed to the world. "Where are you going?"

"First, it's not that kind of date. He cancelled our plans Sunday and said he wanted to make it up to me by going today. To answer your question..." You pulled out your phone to check. You weren't paying full attention to the conversation while it was happening on Sunday, and you knew it was happening Friday but not the details of what would happen.

You ran your eyes through the texts you two had sent, not seeing a placeーthat's when you recalled you talked about that in the phone conversationーbut there was something you found that made you freeze.

"Oh no," you muttered lowly.

"What?" Cosette leaned on the counter, her feet coming off the ground as she tried to get a peek at your screen.
