Chapter 4

~Tris~

I see Tobias, tied to a tree.

Someone else, one of Nita's guards, standing above him. Whipping him. With a belt.

I scream and shoot the guard, pretty much I killed him.

I run to tobias and untie him.

He is still conscience, but barley.

"Tri-- tris I--" Tobias tries to say, obviously struggling.

That's when I see Zeke standing over by the doorway. I motion him over and help me.

"Shhh. It's okay. Just be quiet Tobias." I tell him, while lifting him up on one shoulder, and Zeke having the other.

Tobias injurys didn't look to bad, just cuts.

So I decide to take him back to our room instead.

Zeke sets him down on his bed, and walks out closing the door behind him.

I run to the sink, grab a towel, and soak it in water.

I then run back to Tobias, removing his shirt, and placing the towel on top to clean the cuts.

He groans, obviously hurting.

Who knew a belt could hurt so much. He would know.

"Tris?" I hear Tobias whisper.

"Yeah, I'm right here. I'm right here Tobias." I whisper back to him.

I start to pat down his hair, practically petting his hair.

"Where are we?" I hear him ask.

"We are in our room. I figured you wouldn't want a lot of attention, so I brought you here and cleaning you up myself." I tell him smiling.

"Thanks. You really do know me." He tells me, trying to smile.

"Yeah, I guess I do. Hey, get some sleep." I tell him.

Sleep will help me. It always does.

"Okay" he tells me.

I watch as Tobias quickly falls asleep, and can't help but to fall asleep too.

I wake up an hour later, hearing Tobias in the bathroom.

I go to see him, and make sure he is ok.

"Hey. How you feeling?" I ask him.

He looks up, surprised to see me. I guess he didn't see me standing there.

"Oh hey. I'm fine." He says then looks down.

Before I can say anything else, the tv comes on.

"What? How did that come on?" Tobias says as surprised as I am.

We look at each other and walk to the tv.

That's when we see: EMERGENCY TV REPORT. ALL MUST LISTEN.

Tobias and I just look to each other, then look back at the tv.

I see a reported on tv and listen.

"Attention everyone in the Chicago area. We have important news to share. Evelyn has decided that our faction system will come back! She says, and I quote, "things are getting to out if hand, and we need to get things back under control. Everything will go back to the way it was before the Eridute attack. Everyone must return to their previous faction in 2 days. Anyone who is factionless, you can go back to the faction you belonged to before you were factionless, or you can stay factionless. That is all we have to say for right now. Remember, 2 days."

That's when the tv goes dark.

"Oh my god" is all I hear Tobias say.

The entire compound is silent.

No one knows what to say, this was so unexpected.

"What do we do" is all I can say.

"Go back to Dauntless I guess. Are you happy?" Tobias asks me.

"I don't know, kind of. I always felt like the factions helped us and kept us under control. I never did mind them. But since we haven't had them, I've just felt more free." I tell him in reply.

He just shrugs and we start packing to go back to dauntless, not knowing what to expect.
