I was getting weary as the sun began to rise. We had followed as many trails as we could but all of them were dead ends.
"This is stupid! We're never going to find her," Octavia stomped her feet to a halt, "and we're never going to figure it out. What's the point of holding onto this shitty piece of fur if we don't know who's one it is?"
Angrily I turned around and let Rover off my back, "you had a vital piece of evidence and you didn't think to bring it up in the first place?!" I snarled at her, "give me that!" Taking the fur from her hands I inspected it thoroughly, realizing it belonged to a guard.
A small hand grabbed mine, looking down, I saw Rover staring at me. His next words confirmed my worst nightmare, "Roan, it belongs to Tethos."
With blood now coursing through my veins and anger taking over my body, I instructed Abby, Kane, and Rachel to go take Rover back to Azgeda.
"Abby and Rachel can go, I'm not leaving when my daughter could be in danger. Not again, not ever." Kane defended.
"Alright fine. Rachel, Abby, you take Rover."
"BUT ROOAAAAN!!!" Rover whined.
"Rover, listen to me," I picked him up into my arms, "you have to go back to Azgeda."
"But why? I want to find mommy and protect her."
"We'll protect her, we need you to go back and protect the ice nation."
He smiled slightly and nodded before giving me a hug, "be safe Prince Roan! And bring my mommy back. She's really nice..." he trailed off before whispering, "and single hehe. You could be my future dad!"
I chuckled at his last comment, "I'll bring your mom back, don't worry Rover." I missed the tip of his head before sending him off with Abby and Rachel.
"So what's the plan?" Bellamy asked as he cocked his head to the side.
I didn't know how to answer, strategic plans were never my strong suit. "Clarke?" I chimed.
"What?"
"Well, you're usually good with plans, any ideas?"
"Uh, I could try...let's see. We've confirmed it's Tethos, so we have to think like Tethos. What does he want with Jessica? And where would he take her?"
Just as the answer popped into my head, an ill pitched scream sounded off in the distance. The silence that followed the scream only lingered before I heard my name being shouted from the same direction. It was Jessica, I knew it was. I'd recognize the slightest sound of her voice even if we were in the middle of a war. She was in trouble, and we were going to save her. "LET'S GO!" I yelled as we charged yet again to find Jessica.
