Choices

Chapter 20

-the next evening-

Bri's p.o.v

I invited Cory to walk around with me tonight and maybe swim. I had my swimsuit under my dress. I walked out the door and over to Cory and Uni's hut. I knocked on the door lightly but hard enough for Cory to hear me. I heard faint voices and then some footsteps. Cory opened the door and smiled. He stepped out of the hut and closed the door behind him.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Yeah," he said. We walked around the beach. It was beautiful. The sunset was amazing and the sand on my feet. I stared at the sunset. I was snapped out of my stare by Cory asking me something.

"Sorry,what did you say?" I asked.

"I asked if you want to swim,"

"Oh sure," he smiled and took of his shirt. He was already wearing his swim trunks. I took of my dress and stepped into the water. The water was beautiful. Cory and I talked while we swam. As we swam I saw a pretty rock under the water. I bent down and picked it up. The rock was clear and tinted light blue. Cory came offer and looked at it.

"What's that?"

"It's a rock I found,"

"It's really pretty,"

"Sure is,"

"What're you going to do with it?"

"I don't know, I'll decide later,"

"Wanna head back to shore?"

"Yeah," I said. He nodded.

"Race ya!" He said and began swimming fast towards the shore. I laughed and dove under the water. I swam quickly towards the shore. I ended up getting there first. We sat down on the beach and continued to talk. The stars came up and we laid on the beach looking at them. They were amazing but the thing that made this even better was Cory. I never dated anyone like Cory. So if I could have him again, I'd try. Star gazing reminds me of the one date Cory took me on.

-Flashback-

I walked with Cory towards wherever he was leading us. He had his hand over my eyes. He had his arm around my waist making sure I didn't lose him and I was close. He led me up a hill and stopped. He moved his hand to reveal a small picnic type setup. He led me over and sat down. I sat down too and looked at him.

"What's this for?" I asked.

"Did you really forget?" He asked sounding a little hurt. I thought about what today could be but then realized today was Cory and I's 2 year anniversary. 

"How could I?" I asked moving over to Cory and kissing him on the cheek. He laughed and wrapped his arm around me. I laid my head on his shoulder and sighed. This was perfect. I never want this moment to end. The sky was almost all a light purple and dark blue. The stars began to appear in the sky.

"Wow, they're so pretty," I said.

"They are, aren't they?" 

"Stars are always beautiful," I said.

"So are you a star?" He asked. That was definitely something. I laughed. He looked a little upset.

"Sorry for laughing Cor, it's just that was amazing,"

"I know it was amazing," he mumbled. I snuggled into him more. He wrapped his arm around me tighter and kissed my forehead.

"I love you Bri,"

"I love you too Cory,"

-end of flashback-

That's why I love stars now. They remind me of when Cory and I were a thing. I sighed and Cory looked over at me.

"It reminds you of that date,doesn't it?" He asked. I nodded.

"Me too," he said.  He got up and sat down closer to me. I sat up and looked at Cory. Cory was looking at the water in front of us. I leaned over and kissed his cheek. I felt my cheeks heat up. He looked at me with a pink face.

"What was that for?" He asked. I giggled and shrugged.

"Just felt like it," he smiled at me and got up. I pushed myself up too. 

"It's getting a little late, don't you think?" Cory said. I nodded. Cory yawned.

"Well I had fun Bri,hope we can do something else sometime. Bye!" He said waving. I waved back. We walked to our separate huts. I opened the door quietly to be sure not to wake nick. I heard loud snoring. I walked to my bed after closing the door. I laid down and thought about Cory and I's other dates from before.

Cory's p.o.v

I opened the hut door and saw Uni. He looked very tired. Why the heck is he still up? How can he still even be up?

"Why are you awake? You look exhausted." I said worried.

"I was waiting for you so we could cuddle." He said. I chuckled and nodded my head.

"Fine,if you'll sleep."

"Yay!" He said trying to sound happy. He was happy but he was so tired he couldn't be very excited sounding. We pushed our beds together again and laid down.  Uni hugged me and fell asleep. He moved a bit in his grip until I was in a comfortable position. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
