Chapter 22

-The next day-

Uni's p.o.v

Ashlie was helping me pick out a date idea. I had a few ideas but couldn't decide. I want an amazing date with Cory. I mean most of the others already had dates with him. I need to get another date in somewhere. The date ideas he had were: A date at the aquarium, A date at the carnival, or a date at the ice cream place.

"Either the aquarium or the carnival," Ashlie said.

"I don't know what to choose,"

"I think Cory said he likes fish..." Ashlie said.

"I should know this! I'm his best friend!"

"You're right, so which one?"

"Aquarium!"

"Go,have fun!" Ashlie said punching me out the door. I laughed at her behaviour. I walked back to my hut that I shared with Cory. Luckily he was still here.

"Hey Cory!"

"Hey Uni," he said looking up from his phone and smiling.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go to the aquarium? Like as a date?" I asked rubbing the back of my neck nervously. He smiled at me and put down his phone.

"Sure!" He got up and walked over to me. I smiled and grabbed his hand. We walked to the huge aquarium. I heard this place is amazing. With so many pretty fish and it even had some tanks that people could dive into. This place was a great place for a date. 

Cory and I entered the building and I payed for us to get in. We were aloud to just walk around. I saw a map thing and we went to read that. There were several different sections of the aquarium like,salt water, fresh water, rare, deadly, and then the interactive part.

"Where do we start?" I asked looking at Cory.

"How about we start here," Cory said pointing to the fresh water section.

"Then we can go here," he said moving his finger over to the section next to the fresh water.

"Then just basically go in a circle and we should be back here," he finished.

"Sounds good," we walked to the fresh water section. The fish weren't very attractive but they still looked cool. Cory looked like a little kid. He was staring at the fish in amazement. We then moved to the next few sections then made it to the rare section. The fish here were so beautiful. They were super colourful. Cory was staring at the fish again. I walked behind him and hugged him. I rested my head in his shoulder.

"They're pretty," I said.

"Mmmhm," Cory hummed in agreement. He turned around in my hug and hugged me back. I moved my head  and he moved his too. We looked at each other. Or well I assume, it's hard to tell because Cory's wearing his mask. Cory went on his tip-toes and kissed me. I was a little shocked but kissed back. We broke apart and he smiled at me. We held hands and went to the next section.

-an hour later-

We walked out of the aquarium. This was a great date and I got a kiss. I'm so happy! This date will definitely get me higher on Cory's dating list. 

I just want Cory to be happy. It doesn't really matter if he chooses me anymore. But I still want to at least be on the list and know that I was still appreciated for my efforts. We walked back to our hut and just chilled the rest of the day. I miss talking to Cory as just friends and just for fun.

 I mean this is the first time in awhile that our conversations weren't based on an issue. It was just a normal conversation between us. I'm happy we can still have these. I'm happy even if I don't end up with Cory to know that I'd still be his best friend,which is more than enough for me.
