*Flashback 4 years *

"Calliope, can you get table four please?" Addison asked.

"Me you want me to get it ? But." I was cut off.

"No buts, if you wanna keep this job you're gonna have to do more than just cleaning tables and buffing tables" Addison said without even looking up from the papers she was doing.

"Ok." Nervously I straightened my uniform and grabbed a notepad before walking over to table four.

I walked over to the table that had one younger guy sitting at it. His hair was a mess and his head was laying on the table.

"Welcome to Belfire Diner. What can I get you to drink?" I asked trying not to be nervous or awkward. I had never actually taken orders I always cleaned up or took out the trash.

"Do you have beer?" The guy said looking up at me. His eyes where puffy and he looked like he had been crying for a while.

"we do, but whatever it is that's bothering you it's not worth getting drunk over." I replied.

"Who said anything was bothering me?" He replied faking a laugh.

"Why don't you tell me about it?" I replied sitting across from him.

"Why do you care anyway?" He asked looking over at me.

"Because, you're a good person in a bad place. You need help and I am willing to help you." I replied setting my things on the table.

"She cheated on me, with one of my best friends." He replied a tear rolling down his cheek. "I loved her, and I did everything she ever wanted to make her happy, but it still wasn't enough." Tears where going down his cheek and his hands where in fists.

"I'm so sorry." I placed my hands on top of his. " I know that nothing I can say will help, but you deserve so much better. That girl sucks. You deserve so much more."

"Thanks." He replied giving me a small smile. "Can I ask why you're doing this? Helping me? You don't even know me."

"You kind of remind me of my brother." I replied smiling just a little. "He was the best brother anyone could ask for."

"You said was. What happened?" He turned his head a little to the side.

"A year ago he got into a bad car accident. He didn't make it." I sighed lightly. I never talked about it. It hurt to much.

"Oh I'm so sorry." He replied.

"It's ok. So what's your favorite food?" I asked standing up.

"Spaghetti why?" He asked laughing.

"Then spaghetti you shall have." I replied smiling. "Tonight it's on the house."

"You don't have to do that." He replied a smile starting form.

"I know, but I want to." I replied.

"Thank you." He replied smiling.

"My name's Calliope by the way." I replied sticking my and out to shake his.

"Well Calliope I'm Ashton." He replied taking my hand.

"It's nice to meet you Ashton." I smiled and walked back over to the counter giving the cooks Ashton's order.

"There you are we've been worried sick." I heard some people say coming in over to Ashton.

"I'm sorry I just needed to get out of there, and I came here with the original plan to get very intoxicated, but Calliope helped me see that it isn't worth it." He replied.

"Who's Calliope? " the boy with young hair.

"You'll see." Ashton replied chuckling lightly.

"Whatever you say." He said standing around.

Everything went silent for a while and I went back to cleaning up while I waited for Ashton's food.

After I got it I walked over varying it and straightening out my skirt. The second I looked up I ran into someone and spaghetti went everywhere.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry."

"It's ok. It's just as much my fault as it is yours." The red headed boy said helping me up.

"Are you ok Calliope?" Ashton said getting up from his seat.

"I'm just fine, the spaghetti and a mess though." I whined. "And you are covered in spaghetti." I said looking at the red head.

"I could think of worse things to be covered in." Her replied laughing.

"Like what Michael?" One of the others said.

"No don't answer that Michael." Ashton said giving him a stern look.

"Ashton I'm sorry about your food I'll go get you something else." I said trying to clean up some of the mess.

"Hey Calliope it's ok. I promise." Ashton said.

"Here let me help you." Michael said bending down and helping me clean up some of the mess.
