*2hrs Earlier*
"It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again." Calliope sang along with the radio as she drove down the road. She was full of love excitement. It had been so along since her entire family was together, but now they were all coming together and they were going to watch her little sister be married.
She had not a care in the world just the joy of the music, adventure, and occasionally a kick from the tiny human growing inside of her. That was until she made her way through the intersection and her car started spinning.
She heard a loud crash and before she had time to realize what it was she was trying to get her car back under control, but she couldn't.
Her car slammed into another causing her windshield to shatter and her to jerk forward only to be painfully stopped by her seat belt.
She felt yet another hit that jerked her car again this time causing the air bags to go off. She tried her best to stay calm but she couldn't. She was terrified both for the baby and for herself. She didn't know if she should try to get out of the car and make her way out of there or if she stay there until someone got to her.
She was trying to figure out what to do when she started to feel a little weak and tired. She wanted to fight the urge to fall asleep, but she couldn't. Slowly she drifted off to pure darkness.
*Thomas's POV*
"Some one call an ambulance this woman is pregnant and severely injured." I yelled over to my one of my friends."Oh god what have I done." I tried my best to get her door open but it wouldn't budge. I tried to make my way through the massive car pile up and to her passenger side door. Thankfully because of another car nothing was able to hit that side.
Once I got the door open I got into her car that was full of glass and things. By the looks of it she had luggage in her back seat and some of it came flying to the front. The more I looker at her the more my chest began to hurt. Blood was running down her face like maybe she hit her head on the steering wheel.
"Miss. Can you hear me? My name is Thomas O'Riley and I'm gonna get you out of here I promise." I looked around to see if I could see some sort of ID but there was nothing, at least not visible to me.
"Jason get over here I need your help!" I yelled.
"Oh god what have we done?" Jason seemed more upset and panicked than I did as he walked over to the car.
"Jason now is not the time. We have to help her." I tried to be caring but I at the same time I needed to get my point across.
Jason got another man and they both worked on getting her door open. After a few minutes the man ran over to his truck grabbing a crow bar out of the back.
"So I already know the answer to this I believe but why are you two so set on helping her? Or are you just being good citizens? Because there are a lot of other people that need help." The man said as her started prying her door open
"She was the first one injured. She's pregnant plus half the other people are in this accident is because they thought they could get through when it was obvious they couldn't do it's their own fault they are in here. While she had no choice." I replied maybe a little harsher than I meant to.
After a few more minutes they finally got the door open just as an ambulance arrived. They came over and helped get her out of the car while beginning to check everything.
I looked over and saw her phone laying in the floor under her seat. I grabbed it and ran over to one of the EMTs so they could call her family.
"you really need to get your head checked out." The woman helping her said.
"I will just please make sure she's ok." I said as I watched them load her into an ambulance.
As they drove off towards the hospital I looked back at her car. Just by looking at it you would think that no one survived. She can't die and that baby can't die. I can't be the reason someone looses there family. God I'm so stupid. We where so stupid. I should have been paying attention.
If I would have paid attention like I was supposed to I wouldn't have ran that red light and this never would have happened.
