Chapter 33: Brennan

~4 Months Later~
(Taylor)
I was sitting on the front porch reading a book and having some tea. Reading was the only thing that could distract me from missing Zac. That and being with my beautiful girls. It was what kept me sane.
I wasn't looking up from my book until I heard an engine roaring in the driveway. I looked up and I thought I saw Zac's car. I might be imagining things.
Then he came out of the car. It really was him! I sprung up from my chair and ran towards him.
"ZAC!!!!" I shouted and crashed into him. I almost nearly knocked him over.
"Taylor! Hi!" He kissed my cheek over and over again and then I looked him in the eyes and started crying.
"Hi..." I laughed through my tears. "Hi." I repeated.
"I'm home!" He said and then leaned in and kissed me a million times over and over.
"I missed you so much! Oh my god!" I said as I kissed him again.
"I missed you so much more!" He said back.
"I love you!" I cried.
"I love you so much, don't cry beautiful, it's okay." He kissed my temple and then we just stood there in each other's arms for a while.
"Wanna go lay down. The girls don't get out of school until later. It's only like 11:30..." I asked hoping he'd agree.
"Yes of course, lemme just put my stuff upstairs. I'll be right down." We walked in the house and I helped him with his things.
"Thanks." He said. I went downstairs and let him change and then he came down and laid with me on the couch.
"I missed you." I said again.
"I missed you too, angel." He kissed my head.
"Uhm, Zac?" I was going to tell him that I was pregnant.
"Yeah?" He looked at me.
"I'm..." I was nervous.
"It's okay, you can tell me." He reassured me.
"I'm pregnant." I said quickly.
"Really?!?!" He asked smiling wide.
"Yes! I am! Oh, I'm so relieved you're happy!" I said.
"Why wouldn't I be!? I'm so happy! Are you?!" He asked still smiling.
"Yes! So so happy!" I finished.
~2:30 pm~
(Zac)
I was gunna go and pick up the girls and surprise them. But I needed Taylor's help.
"Ready?" I asked, coming over to her.
"Yes!" Im ready!" I said to him.
"Okay let's go!" He said back, kissed me, and then we got into the car and drove to their school.
When we got there, we went to the principle's office and asked if we could bring them home early. They said it was completely fine. I was so excited to see their reactions. Their school gets out at 3:45, so we just decided to tell them that they had a doctor's check-up or something.
We walked down to Melanie's hallway and found her in art class.
I knocked on the door frame.
"Hi Mrs. Hane, I'm here to pick up Melanie, we have a doctor's appointment to go to." I smiled innocently.
"Okay, hello Taylor! Melanie why don't you wash out your paint brushes and go with your mom, okay?" Melanie smiled and nodded, then did as she was told. Then she came over to me and hugged me.
"Hey mommy!" She said.
"Hi baby! Ready to go?" I asked her.
"Yeah lemme just grab my backpack and coat." She went by her seat and grabbed her backpack, then we went to her locker and got her coat.
"Good job." I said to her.
"Okay, I'm ready!" She said smiling big up at me."
"Is Tessa coming with too?" She asked.
"Yes! Wanna go get her with me?" I followed up with another question.
"Yes please!" She smiled again.
"Okay, let's go!" We went upstairs and got Tessa from algebra.
I knocked again. "Oh hello Taylor! And hi Melanie!" Mrs. Summers said smiling at us.
"Tessa and Melanie have a doctor's appointment. Is it okay if I grab Tessa early?" I asked gently.
"Yes, go ahead. See you later Tessa. Good luck at the doctor's." She said.
"Thanks!" Tessa said and grabbed her backpack and coat.
"Ready?" I said hugging her.
"Yes!" She hugged me back.
When we got outside the car was parked in the lot where it was supposed to be.
"Hey girls, can you open the trunk for me I have to put something from the back seat in there." I asked them.
"Yeah sure." Melanie and Tessa went to the back of the car and opened the trunk.
~Tessa~
When we opened the trunk my dad was sitting in there!
"Dad!?!?" I practically screamed.
"DAD!!!!" I said again.
He jumped out and picked us both up.
"Daddyyyyy!" Melanie exclaimed.
"Hey babies! I missed you guys so much!"
"Mommy! There's no doctor's appointment is there?" Melanie said giggling.
"No, there isn't. We wanted to surprise you girls!" My mom exclaimed as well.
"Well you did surprise us!" I finished.
I kissed my dad then Melanie did and we all hugged in the middle of the parking lot.
"Wanna go out to eat?" He suggested.
"Yes!" I said.
"Mhm! Yes please!" Melanie added.
"Where do you wanna go?" I looked at Melanie and she looked at me, then we said together, "MISSION BARBECUE!" That was our favorite restaurant.
"Okay, I had a feeling you were gunna pick that!" He said.
"Ready to go?!" My mom asked happily.
"Yes!" We both said together again.
We got into the car and drove to the restaurant. We ate a lot and then went home and we all watched a movie on the couch together under one big blanket.
I was so happy my dad was home for good now.
~5 Months Later~(Taylor)
I was going to have the baby any day now. We didn't know the gender yet. I was pretty sure I had a couple more days until I had to give birth but it was surprising timing with both Tessa and Melanie. So who knows, maybe I will have a surprise this time too.
