~Taylor~
It was New Year's Eve and I couldn't believe how fast the year already went by. All my kids were growing up so fast and my life was changing constantly every day. I could never ask for a better life because there would be no better life for me. I already have the best. I was sitting on the couch just thinking about all the things that have happened to me in my life. I couldn't say that I was completely satisfied with all of them, but I could positively say that I was proud to say that it's my life and that I survived all of it. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt someone sit next to me on the couch. It was Nelle.
"Hey, sunshine," I said happily when I saw her face.
"I need to talk to you, momma," she said seriously. I got worried.
"Okay, what's up?" I asked trying to stay as calm as possible.
"What are you going to do about my little incident that happened a while ago?" She asked me.
"Do we have to do anything really?" I asked.
"Well no, but I'd like to figure out what's going on with me. That was really scary, mom..." she said.
"I know it was, but what are we supposed to do. No one would really believe us if you think about all of this realistically," I said frankly.
"Why not? We'd be telling the truth..." she said seriously.
"That's true, but sometimes people don't believe someone even they're really telling the complete truth," I said.
"Why? That makes no sense..." she said sadly.
"I don't know, babe..." I said in the same tone as hers.
"Well, we need to do something, mom. I'm serious."
"I know you are, Nelle," I said to her truthfully.
She looked at me suddenly with tears in her eyes.
"Please don't cry, angel. We'll figure something out," I reassured her. She just nodded and cried silently.
"I love you so much, and I'm gonna help you no matter what, okay?"
"I love you so much, too and okay, mommy..." she finished.

I woke up and Taylor wasn't in bed with me, so I assumed she was downstairs fixing breakfast or something like that. I laid there in bed for a moment just mentally looking over my life. So much has happened and I don't really think that I regret any of it. Some of it I wish never happened. But maybe those things happened for a reason. Like for example, if I wouldn't have gone to Ryan's house that night, Taylor would've been killed most likely, which I hate thinking about, but it really could've happened. But I thank God that it didn't.
I heard movement outside my door so I said, "Come in, whoever that is."
"It's Brennan..." he said as he came in slowly.
"Hey, buddy, c'mere..." I motioned him towards me.
He crawled into my bed with me and I put an arm around him.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"Yes, I'm just nervous..." He said not looking at me.
"Why are you nervous?" I asked him.
"Because it's almost 2018 and I promised myself in 2018 I would ask this girl I like to be my girlfriend..." he said seriously.
"Uhmm, you're too young to have a girlfriend I think," I said.
