~Zac~
I woke up early that morning and headed straight to the ring store. I wasn't going to wait any longer to tie the knot with Taylor. I've never had this feeling towards someone in my life and I was happy that I felt the way I did, it was refreshing.
I left her a note and then headed out to town. I went to a small ring place that I knew of and walked in.
"Hi, how may I help you?" A woman asked from behind the counter.
"Hi, I'm looking for an engagement ring." She smiled and pointed to the case to the left.
I glanced at a few and then picked a small band with a simple diamond, I didn't want anything extravagant. However, I did have the ring personalized so it said,
"My Other Half" on the inside. I paid and then went home to Taylor.

I stepped inside the door and she was sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee.
"Hey!" She said smiling.
"Hi...how are you?" I asked smiling back at her and putting my coat away.
"Good, how are you? And where were you?" She asked.
"Oh, I'm good and I was running some errands. What have you been doing?"
"Just reading the paper...did you know that they're thinking about building another park? It's like they're trying to wipe out the parking lots and streets!"
Taylor always had some type of opinion. It was so cute how worked up she got about things. I loved when she talked because everything she said was so funny and powerful and sweet.
"I did not know that, but, now I do." I said walking over and leaning down to kiss her cheek.
"It's insane, anyway how did you sleep, you were out pretty early." She said taking another sip of coffee.
"Yeah, I was... but you were too! I slept good, and what about you?" I asked looking at her. I loved looking at her, my beautiful girlfriend and soon to be my beautiful wife. I just hoped she'd say yes.
"I slept good for once. Lately I've been tossing around and my sleep schedule's been twisted." She was twirling her hair in her fingertips.
"Why's that?" I asked walking to the coffee maker to grab a cup myself.
"Not sure, maybe because Tess has been in the spin too."
"Possibly. Is there anything I can do?" I asked walking over back to her and massaging her shoulders while the pot heated up.
Her shoulders relaxed.
"I'm not sure, but whatever you decide to do, don't make me sleep alone." She lightly laughed.
So did I.
"Wouldn't even dream about it." I leaned over her and she titled her head back to look at me. I pressed my lips against hers quick.
"Thanks." She said smiling.
"Why are you thanking me? The pleasure is all mine." I said smiling back. She laughed and shook her head as she turned back to her paper.

"Hey, you wanna go out tonight?" I heard Zac from the kitchen, he was cleaning dishes.
"Sure, what were you thinking?" I closed my magazine and turned my head to look over the couch at him.
"I dunno, what about we go to the beach. I know it's kinda cool outside but it'll be pretty since they light up the trees down there. How does that sound?" He asked coming to sit by me.
"That sounds good, but we'll need to call a sitter for Tessa. Any thoughts on that?" I asked sitting up to lean into him. He put his arm around me and pulled out his phone.
"I could just ask my brother to come watch her. Is that okay?" He asked dialing the number.
"Yeah that's okay. I'll go get ready."
I kissed him on his cheek and went upstairs. I was getting dressed in something warmer because I was wearing a short sleeve top and sleep shorts since we were at home the whole day and I didn't feel like getting dressed. I put on jeans and a sweater that my mom got me for my birthday a while ago and put on sandals so I could take them off easily at the beach.
"Okay I'm ready." I said coming back into the kitchen.
"You look cute." He said smiling foolishly.
"Thanks, you do too." I said smiling back.
We got in the car and drove to the beach, luckily it was a nicer night. It was about 55 degrees outside so it wasn't too bad.
The sun was about to set which created an illuminating blanket of vibrant oranges and pinks across the sky. The water was calm but had a few occasional waves roll into the shore.
I was standing at the tip of the water when I felt Zac's arms fold around my waist from behind me.
"It's so pretty out here." I said smiling to myself and closing my eyes. I breathed in deep through my nose as Zac brushed his lips lightly against my neck.
"It is, but I have an even better view." He said turning me around.
I smiled at him and he leaned in and pressed his lips against mine. He was always so gentle. I loved that. He was never pushy or greedy, he always went slow and made sure we were both comfortable.
I curled my lips around his as he kissed me again. Every time our lips came together my whole body melted into a puddle of pleasure.
I hummed as he played with the ends of my hair and began kissing my neck.
"I love you." He said quietly.
"I love you too." I said. Zac and I had been together almost 2 years now and I really wanted us to move things along. We had a child together now and I felt like it was just necessary that we buckle down and make a true family.
"Taylor..." Zac said almost startling me.
I looked him in the eyes and smiled a little.
"I've loved you since the day you walked in on that screen test. With you in my arms like that I knew that I wanted to be with you. You're so compassionate and intelligent. I'm so grateful to have met you and there's no one else I'd rather spend my life with....Taylor---will you marry me?" Zac pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket and knelt down on one knee.
My hand was resting on my heart and I was smiling down at him holding back tears.
I nodded quickly. "Yes...yes of course I'll marry you! This ring is gorgeous also, and I love how it says "My Other Half" in the inside. Thank you Zac!" He got up and gently took hold of my left hand and slipped the ring on my finger.
"I love you so much, Taylor. You have no idea...you're perfect in every way possible. Thank you for giving me everything I've always wanted."
A tear fell from my eye and onto my cheek.
He ran his thumb over the tear to wipe it away.
"I hope those are happy tears." He lightly chuckled.
"Yes...very happy." I said. He leaned in and kissed me. His kiss was passionate but warm and soft at the same time. I loved that about him. He could show desire without being too needy. He gently brushed hairs away from my eyes and looked at me.
"You're so beautiful, I can't believe I get to call you mine." He said kissing me once again.
The sun made it's declension as it dipped into the horizon, its colors ripping through the still water. The air was cool as it twirled around us and then went still.
We were standing there in each other's arms for a while and then we broke away.
"Do you wanna go home now?" Zac asked holding my hands in his.
"Sure, if you're ready, I am." I said smiling at him.
"Alright. I'm ready if you are." I nodded and we made our way back to the car.
Tonight was perfect and so was Zac. I was so happy that he had decided to ask me to marry him. It was sort of surprising somehow but also not too surprising because we have been together for so long. I couldn't have asked for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with. I was so grateful for all I had and didn't want one sliver of it to change for anything. I was finally happy again. For the longest time I didn't think I'd ever be again, but I am, and Zac is the one to thank. Not to mention Tessa. My whole world is turning again. Previously my world had come to a sudden halt, almost practically trapping me in time, but now....now I was where I wanted to be and where I wanted to stay. Forever.
~5 Years Later(Taylor)~
I was in the kitchen and suddenly I heard little footsteps patting against the wooden floors.
