~Tessa~
I woke up early this morning because of a certain someone.
I lightly knocked on the wall that my bed was pushed against and yelled softly, "Ugh, mom!" Brennan was crying. I checked my phone. 5:16 am. "Are you kidding me?!?! Ugghhhh!" I was so upset.
She came to my door and knocked.
"Tessa." She said from outside.
"Yes?" I said quietly. Brennan stopped crying so I assumed dad got him this time.
"Can I come in please?" She whispered so she wouldn't wake up Melanie.
"Fine.." I said as she entered.
"Sorry about that...but do you remember what you did when Melanie would cry as a baby?" She sat at the edge of my bed.
"No...because if I did, I would be doing that right now." I chuckled at her.
"Okay smarty, I was gunna say that you used to put music in your ears and fall asleep to that. Did you try that?" She asked me.
"No, I didn't. I didn't think music would drown that out. He's a screamer." I said to her seriously.
"I know he is, and I'm sorry. Do you want to go try and fall asleep on the couch?" She asked.
"Can you lay with me down there please?" I asked her.
"Yeah sure!" She said happily.
"Okay thanks!" I grabbed my pillow, blanket and my teddybear then we headed downstairs. Our couch is an 'L' shape and on the end there is a part that stretches out like a foot rest but it's all one big piece of the couch. So it's like a little bed. That's where we were gunna lay.
She laid down first and opened her arms. I set the pillow down next to her and then crawled into them. She wrapped me up tight and kissed my head.
"Try to sleep for a couple more hours okay?" She said softly almost in a whisper again.
"Okay..." I said. I knew I wasn't going to have that much trouble falling asleep now that she was holding me.
"I love you." I said before drifting off.
"I love you too." She just rested her lips on my head and then fell asleep too.

~Later That Morning~(Taylor)
I woke up with Tessa curled up in my arms. I loved moments like these. Where I could just hold my babies. It's true, they meant the world to me; and I wouldn't trade them for the world. Ever.
I just laid there staring up at the ceiling.
Tessa started to stir around and wake up. I stroked her hair back out of her face.
"Good morning beautiful." I said softly to her.
She yawned slightly and squinted her eyes while stretching.
"Ehhh good morning mommy..." She sniffled in. She sounded stuffy.
"You okay?" I asked her.
"Mhm, I think I might be getting a cold." She said and then sniffled again.
"Aww, I'm sorry. Do you want to stay home from school today?" She asked me.
"Yes please mommy." She finished.
"You hungry?" I asked her as I kissed her head.
"A little." She said quietly.
"Want some breakfast? Or some soup?" I asked.
"Soup sounds good right now." She said.
"Okay, I can do that. Stay here and just lay down for a while. Okay?" I said gently.
"Okay...I might close my eyes for a minute but I promise I won't fall asleep."
"Okay." I chuckled at her.
I went into the kitchen to start her breakfast. I made her some chicken noodle soup. The classic meal for when you're sick. Then I put some crackers on the side so she could put them in her soup.
I went over to her and got her up off the couch.
"Hey, breakfast is done." I said softly to her. She moved around and then sat up. She looked adorable rubbing her eyes.
"Okay, I'm up."
"It's on the table for you when you're ready." I said to her as she drug herself off the couch and into the kitchen.
"Thank you." She said as she began to eat.
"You're welcome." I kissed the top of her head and then went upstairs to wake up Melanie.
I came into her room quietly and then sat on the side of her bed. I brushed her hair back.
"Good morning princess..." I whispered to her.
She groaned and turned over away from me.
"Awww is someone tired?" I asked her.
"Mhmm..." She groaned again.
"You gotta get up for school though baby. I'm sorry. Didn't you hear Brennan crying earlier this morning?" I asked.
"Nuh uh..." She said lazily.
"Oh, well you're definitely your father's child. My two heavy sleepers." I said.
I leaned down and kissed her head softly 3 times.
"I love you mommy..." She said half asleep.
"I love you too, so much." I ran my fingers through her hair again.
"That feels good momma..." She was very relaxed.
"Yeah?" I said.
"Mhmm, I like when you do that..." She smiled in her sleep.
"Do you want to stay home today too, Tessa doesn't feel well." I asked her.
"Yes!" She sat up straight as a pin.
I chuckled at her. "Okay, you can!"
She smiled. "Yay yay yay! Staying home is gooddd!" She exclaimed.
"Yeah?" I asked her.
"Yeah!" She finished.
"Well when you're ready you can come down for breakfast okay?" I told her.
"Okay!" She smiled and I left the room.
~Later That Afternoon~(Still Taylor)
We were all sitting in the living room just playing a game.
"Noooo, I have to go all the way back to that stupid plumb guy! Fudge cakes!" Melanie said. We were playing candy land. I chuckled at her and looked at the board.
"Let's get a dog." I said blankly.
"WHAT?!" Melanie and Tessa said in unison.
"Yeah, we're about to move so why not get a new addition." I said.
"Taylor, we already have a new addition if you haven't forgotten Brennan." Zac informed.
"Of course I haven't forgotten him, but I think having a dog would be good for the girls and us. Don't you?" I smiled at him and gave him my most innocent eyes I had.
"Ah why the hell not!" He finally gave in.
"Yes!!!!!" Melanie and Tessa jumped up and down and danced around the living room.
"Excited much?" Zac chuckled.
"Yes yes yes!!!" Melanie said.
"Let's gooo!" Tessa said.
"Where are we going to get it!?" Melanie asked.
"Well I know a breeder in Long Island that breeds German Shepherds. Does that interest either of you?" I asked.
"Yes it does! What about you Melanie?" Tessa asked.
"Yes! I like those dogs! Aren't those the ones that police use to help sniff stuff out and for protection?" She asked.
"Yes! That's the breed they use!" I replied.
"Cool, a guard dog!" She said excitedly.
"Yeah sort of!" I chuckled.

We drove up to Long Island and went to the breeder. When we got there the girls could barely contain their excitement.
"Okay, now go slow, and don't be too loud okay?" I asked them.
"Don't worry mommy, we will." Melanie said.
"Yeah, we'll be quiet and slow. Promise." Tessa added.
"Okay good!" We all got out of the car and approached the lady.
"Hi everyone! I'm Margaret and I breed German shepherds! I've had this breeding farm for a little over 5 years now and I've been breeding dogs in general for about 15 years. So it's my job and also my hobby and I love it. So you're here to adopt a puppy today?" She asked excited for an answer.
"Yes, we are!" I exclaimed.
"Well I'll take you in to see the puppies we have up for adoption this month." She motioned us to follow her and we went into her house. There was a play pen with 6 puppies in it.
"Awww, they're so cute!" Melanie said softly.
"Yeah, and so tiny!" Tessa added.
"They're so preciousss!" I said weakly.
"See one you want to pick to take home girls?" Zac asked them. There was one hiding in the corner all by itself.
"That one." They both pointed.
"Good choice, he looks like he needs a home." Zac said.
"Actually that one is a female shepherd. She's about 13 weeks old. So about 3 months."
"Can we name her Hanna!?!?" Melanie asked.
"Sure but why Hanna?" I asked.
"Because that's what I'd change my name to if I could change it." She said.
"What's wrong with 'Melanie'? I asked.
"Oh! Nothing! But, I just really like the name Hanna." She informed me.
"Well I think that's cute!" Tessa said.
"Thanks!" She said in return.
"Alright well that one you guys can actually have for free since she's the runt of this litter." Margaret said.
"Oh are you sure?" I asked.
"Yeah! That's totally fine, she's not up to date with her immunizations yet though so that will need to be done sooner than later." She said.
"Okay, we'll definitely be doing that soon."

We grabbed the puppy and her birth certificate, thanked Margaret and headed home.
Before we went home though, we stopped at the pet store and got a bed with a crate, food, a water dish and food dish, and a couple toys for her to teeth on.
"You guys like her?" I asked as we walked inside the house.
"Yes, we love her!" Tessa said.
"Mhm, and she is sooo cute!" Melanie added.

We all sat in the living room and played with Hanna til it was time for dinner.
It was a good day.
