.60. Summer, With A Promise Of Rain

72 13 13

Bright and blue it shone
That endless little sky
Standing tall with all its heat
People yearned for it to cry

Black and white is all it turned
Not a single other shade
Even the highly sophisticated people
Wished for that artist to paint

Paint on the canvas of sky
Sketch some spots of grey
Leaving behind its monotonous self
They wanted it to play

Play with the drops of water
Play with the lighting and thunder
They desired to see a rainbow
In its magnificent splendor

It was that last month of summer
Which gave them all the pain
Now they wanted their favorite summer
To give a promise of rain

They wanted their favorite summer
To show some signs of change
