He gave her a diamond
She broke him some stars
He promised her a crescent
From the corners of this world
They bought the best of gifts
Yet, when the time came
They couldn't prevent the rifts
She just wished to see him happy
He wished to see her smile
Searching for the perfect gift
They travelled many a miles
It was when they came home
They realized their mistake
All those gifts they sought
Those pleasures were all fake
Their hearts were already locked
They were each other's dove
It was after that brief moment
They realized that the greatest gift in life is love
Yes, the best gift one can get.
