Chapter 19

Long Night (Part 1)

“Standing outside the rain,

I can’t because he’s holding you.”

I read the lyrics out loud.

“Who wrote this part?” I asked with all curiosity.

We finished dinner with them teasing me and Jin. The both of us became the high light of the night and it’s nothing but pure embarrassment. I can’t help but blame it all on Jin and his stupid mouth.

Now the 10 of us are gathered in the huge living room with dessert served. Han Sung was busy playing on his phone so we were freely discussing about the song.

“Ah. Jin hyung wrote it.” Namjoon answered

“Everything that I read just now, he wrote it?” I asked quite surprise because I didn’t know he could write quite well.

“Yup and some other parts too.” Namjoon nodded proudly.

“Thanks Namjoon-ssi.” I smiled at him and he welcomed me with his dimples.

“So,  Jin-ssi. Could you tell me the exact interpretation of this lyrics?” I ask without looking at him. I really don’t want to talk to him at the moment or the moment later.

“O-of course.  . . uhm. . . it’s about a man who can see the woman’s pain but can’t do anything about it yet because the woman was being held by another man so he can’t do anything for her yet.” He answered while blinking rapidly

Who is he talking about? Hae Jung? Maybe it’s her. She has tons of boys anyways.

“I see.” Is all I can manage to say because bitterness resurfaced in my mouth although I’m eating a sweet blueberry cheesecake.

“But I remember that late September night

It was Min Young who read that part as she sips her wine. Yes. She happened to have a wine cellar here and she did not inform me about it!

“Oh! Our Kookie wrote that part!” Jimin beamed proudly.

“Why is this song so sad by the way?” I asked again out of wonders.

“Jungkook and Jin hyung wrote most of the lyrics and it was fit for our new album called “Becoming” because that album talks about a maturing man like us finally fighting for something or someone they love after enduring different struggles and pains be it be in love, life, career, anything.” Namjoon explained which made me look at the lyrics again.

“I’ll accept it all so don’t fret
Even if you push me away I won’t have regrets
I won’t give up, on you, on us
Your beauty that I can’t seem to grasp
And the light you illuminate I will caress
I love you, only you.” I read out loud

“That part seems soothing.” Min Young commented.

“It’s the chorus.” Namjoon said, “Jin hyung wrote the first two lines Jungkook wrote the third line while Yoongi hyung wrote the rest.” He demystified

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but the lines that Jungkookie wrote means that he actually love this woman but he lied to her so it breaks her heart but now he is begging for her to stay and he won’t give up?” I asked.
