Jessica stood and watched the boy in front of her. She didn't understand, he confused her so much and he laughed at her. Not at something she said or did that made her want him to laugh but he laughed at her. It infuriated her.
But, he was a cute boy and he was a dumb boy so she decided to conceal her emotions. And emitted a blank look at him.
She stood close to the door and he walked toward the foot of his bed.
"You know," he started in a matter-of-factly manner, "most girls aren't too bothered to come into my bedroom, they're mostly here for my brother. He's the one throwing this party, you know."
Jessica pursed her lips, "I stumbled upon your room by chance. So don't think anything is going to happen."
"What? Here I thought I was going to get lucky by getting to know a girl who walks into my bedroom."
Not sure how to take it, she turned to leave. Not that she had anyone to go to (unless Linda was stranded by Mr.Slicked Back Hair). Her hand on the door and her foot in the hall, when he called out.
"Wait, you're bored, I'm bored. How about we talk for a while. I will not do anything you don't want me to," he said smirking, "scout's honour."
She had to admit that she would be bored if she went downstairs, she could've gone home too but it was Linda who she came with. The Linda who was now MIA.
She huffed out a breath and closed the door. And turning to face the cute boy once more for what seemed to be the millionth time. He patted on the space next to him and she went to sit, making sure to leave a space between them just so that he wouldn't do anything.
"I'm Grant, by the way. Sorry that I scared you when you came into my room."
She smiled, "I'm Jessica and I'm not so sure that I forgive you just yet."
