Chapter 11: outburst

His friends had left the theatre, Rosie wondering where Grant was since she had to express a confession to him. Ever since she had watched the movie it had made her realise that who she was searching for was actually in front of her the whole- since the fifth grade- time. She was the one who was too silly to realise this and had come out of her bubble that comprised of hot guys who weren't worthy of her to the cute and wonderful realm that was Grant.

That was if she could find the cutie.

She saw him at the luxury counter and when she saw who he was talking to her heart stopped. It was the same girl who had been super mean to Lyle when all he did was point out what she was doing at the party the previous day. Her heart dropped when she saw, as she walked closer, that he was holding her hand in the same way that he would hold hers only he was looking into her eyes and it seemed as if the girl was about to shed a river of tears.

Hope rose within her at the thought that he was breaking her heart. But then she heard the girl say, "It's okay Grant. I forgive you and I understand why you did it. You were ashamed I know but you don't have to be and yeah." She stopped and smiled. Grant hugged the girl over the counter and she closed her eyes, when she opened them she saw Rosie and pushed away Grant, in a light manner, away.

She mumbled a "turn around" and Grant did as he she instructed.

"Hey Rosie." He said, his heartbeat quickening as he saw the look on Rosie's face. Was it hurt or disappointment? He wasn't sure, he never was around Rosie.

"Can I talk to you?" She asked, Grant nodded and waited for her to speak, "somewhere private." She finished and took Grant's hand leading him away from the counter.

"I have something to say to you..."

"Rosie, I-"

"Before you saying," she said pressing her finger to his lips, "Hear me out. Grant I just realised something from that movie we were watching. I'm not sure where you went but...Anyway what I'm trying to say is that I've been looking and searching for my ideal guy. I've dated a lot and you can vouch for me on that but I've never been happy in any of the relationships and well I know that I've never seen you in that light but this movie... It made me realise that what I was searching and looking for was with me and by my side always. Grant, I love you." She finished, a hopeful smile overtaking her features.

Grant didn't know what to say. For so long had he wanted to tell her how he felt though now she was telling him and he didn't     feel his heart race when she said those words. Not the way it did when Jessica had accepted his apology. And that was all he needed to verify everything.

"Rosie, I love you," Her face lit up, "I always will, you're my best friend. Your scent always makes me feel at home and happy but that's all it does. You'll always be my friend but I think that's how I want it to be." He said while fidgeting with his Hands, moving them inside each other like revolving circles.

Rosie blinked a few times to prevent the brine-y solution from leaving her eyes but it didn't work and soon little rivers trailed down her cheeks and fell to the cold, hard tiled floor. Her pulse erupted; that wasn't the answer she was expecting.

"What to do you mean you only want to be friends! I just confessed to you my undying fucking love and you fucking just...just discarded of me like last night's trash. What do you think I still want to be your friend!? I don't fucking need you!" She shouted and people were beginning to stare but Rosie was livid. She didn't get her way this time, she always did.

"You're upset, I know but-"

She didn't give him a chance to explain before charging towards the food count er with one target, Jessica.

"You!" She said with a pointed finger at Jessica, "this is all your fucking fault!" A shriek left her throat, "you stole my man bitch. He was mine," she was shouting at Jessica and Jessica didn't know what to do so she listened to the raging girl, "you are so going to pay for what you did. He was mine you hear me! I was supposed to have him we'd have made the perfect pair but NO you had to come along and ruin everything."

Rosie was about to jump on the counter and fight for her newfound unrequited love when two arms pulled her away which only spurred her on even more. She fought her way off but it didn't work and she was dragged out by the security.

Grant came around the counter and hugged Jessica, "You have the craziest friends." She said while laughing both out of fear and relief.
