Jessica woke up to a pain in her head and a semi-warm space in the place next to her.

"OWWWWW" Her head was throbbing, she looked around her room and found a note on the beside table accompanied by two pain tablets and toast.

For the headache, take it now

A smile on her lips, she did as she was told.

"No, don't you get it- Listen to me- What ho-" she heard Grant speaking and followed his voice. He was in the living room with his back to her.

She heard a woman on the other line, "Of course I still love you, what did you think? That I'd give us up so quickly? You were the one who threw the tantrum."

"Well, I forgive you. Yeah, we can, how about at Wimpy, my treat? I'll meet you there in about thirty." He laughed and Jessica went back into her room with a knot forming in her stomach and it wasn't because of his sexy and structured physique from behind.

Was she jealous? Was it jealousy if you wanted to hit the person who was speaking to your boyfriend against a wall? The rough kind, you know with the small hard spikes.

And was he even her boyfriend? she thought. They hadn't made anything official, all they did was confess how they made one another feel. She decided she would ask him once he came to her room.

It wasn't long after her short internal monologue that he came into her room and before he could say anything she asked, "What are we exactly? You like me and I like you but what's this," she said pointing between them, "Are we...you know, dating? Is this some casual thing because if it is then you have another thing coming."

All Grant did was smile. He loved how she wasn't afraid to voice her strong opinions and she looked cute with her face in a resting and stern look anyway.

"Are you listening to me?"

"Yes, yes I am. I don't know what we are either but I can tell you later since I kinda need to get home now so."

"That makes no sense, do you want to take this further or not?"

"Well yes I do, but I really need to get home."

I'll meet you there in thirty, she blinked back unwanted tears. Was he lying to her? Why didn't she just ask him? Why was she torturing herself like this.

"Is there someone at home that you're in such a hurry? I mean, it's only nine. Surely we can maybe spend another thirty minutes together. I hardly know you and we can get to-"

"I actually have to get home. See I have cousins coming over and my mom is a big family person so..."
She tried to not question him. But she vaguely remembered him saying how he hardly knew any of his external family since his parents weren't that much of big family people.

She felt her mouth twitch from her smile wanting to turn upside down but she kept it tact, "Well then I'll see you sometime soon then."

He kissed her and her stomach spun faster than a spinning top and when he pulled away he didn't even say goodbye.
