(Lexi's POV)

It never occurred to me that Liam worked at Dooley's, but it makes sense.

I didn't go into the bar in hopes of running into Liam, I simply wanted to purchase a nice drink after my stressful day, but I was slightly butt hurt when Liam barely acknowledged my existence. He was too busy entertaining a redhead during his break.

"You've been coming around here pretty often these days." Taylor made conversation as I sipped on my drink.

"I'm not going to lie, you guys make hella good drinks." I grinned at him. Captain Morgan and Coke is my favorite drinking combination, reminds me of ice cream.

Another person approached the counter and Taylor went off to take his order. By the time he was across from me again, my drink was finished.

"Thanks, Taylor." I handed him a 20 to pay for my drink and told him to keep the change.

"Are you sure you're good to drive?"

How sweet of him to be concerned.

"I am, but I'm not driving. My sister's parked outside." I offered him a small smile.

"Oh okay, have a good night, Lexi."

I took one last glance at Liam before I left. He was sipping his drink while a redhead danced around him seductively.

He did me two measly favors. I was stupid to think there could be anything more to it than that.

"Did your quick drink take the edge off?" Sam started the engine up in her to car to take us home.

"Nope; in fact, it only added onto the edge." I'm aware that reversing that phrase doesn't make much sense, but I didn't care. "Liam works there, did you know that?"

I don't know why I asked, Sam obviously did not know that.

"No, but isn't that a good thing?"

I shrugged, staring out the window, grumpily. "He paid me no attention, too focused on the lap dance some bitch was giving him."

I'm sure the girl was actually a nice girl, but I'm grumpy and I don't know her; therefore, I am going to stereotype her to make myself feel better.

What she doesn't know can't hurt her, now can it?

"He's a single guy in his mid-twenties that works at a bar, Lex. What did you expect?" Truth is? I don't know what I expected.

~•~

I am a strong believer in the fact that one should treat every day like a new day. Don't dwell on the past.

So today, Sunday, I am going to pretend my store wasn't vandalized yesterday.

The first free minute I had after I got dressed and ready for my day, I texted Holly to inform her I was taking a day off from all things work related, so I could spend it with my family.

Pretty much my next 3 weeks revolved exclusively around work, I deserve a day off reserved for my family.

I was laying in bed and reading a magazine when my phone started ringing the default iPhone ringtone over on my vanity.

"Hello..." I answered in a sing-song voice. Oh, how I love being in a good mood.

"Hey, Lexi, how's your morning?"

"Joey!" I practically screamed into the phone. Close or not, I love my brother. "It's pretty good, you?"

"Great, Sophie and I are on our way up right now actually. Is it okay if we come over before Brooke's dinner tonight?"
