(Lexi's POV)

Sam waved once more before getting in the car to go pick up Stefan. They have a soccer tournament this weekend and, where Nick would normally take Stefan to it, he has to work late today and can't. Practically being family and all, Sam didn't mind taking Stefan along with her.

I officially have the house all to myself for the whole weekend and I tend to make the most of it.

"Hey, Ali, what's up?" Liam answered after only two rings. I heard the clash of dishes, signaling he's still at work.

"Did you want to come over tonight? Sam just left for the weekend for a soccer tournament, so I have the house to myself." I explained, hoping he understands what I'm insinuating.

"Hold on," I could practically hear the grin in his voice. That was promising. The voices on his end of the call were muffled for several minutes until he came back. "Artie said I need to stay until 9, then I can head over if that's cool?"

"Sounds perfect!" Though, I was bummed he couldn't come over now because now I have to entertain myself for the next 2 hours.

Well, Alicia should be here any minute.

"Should I have dinner ready? Do you think you'll be hungry?"

Liam chuckled softly, the noise sounding like music to my ears. "You don't have to, damsel."

Most boyfriends give their girlfriend a cute pet name like babe or pretty, but I'm over here with damsel.

"Count on it, Superman." I teased. "I'll see you tonight."

"See you, Ali."

I plugged my phone into the charger that was conveniently left in the kitchen outlet.

There were two soft knocks on the door right before Alicia's thick Spanish accident railed through the house announcing her presence.

At the obvious sound of her grunts and struggles, I hurried over to the foyer to find her struggling to hold the two brown paper bags that contained groceries, packed to the absolute limit.

"Let me help!" I insisted, taking the heavier one from her.

"Did I miss Ms. Sam?" She frowned, noticing the uncomfortably silent house that enveloped us.

"She just left, yeah."

"That's too bad. What do you like to eat for dinner tonight?"

"Well, actually, Liam is coming over later. I told him we'd have dinner ready for him. Mind holding off on dinner for another hour and a half?" I suggested with a pleading smile. I knew the pleading smile wasn't even necessary because she'd agree to it nonetheless.

Not only do I hand over her paycheck, she is an incredibly kind and considerate middle aged woman. She's been Sam and I's chef and housekeeper since we moved in together a year ago. She has become to be like a second mother to me.

"Ooh! I have the perfect dinner idea for your date with Mr. Liam!" She exclaims, excitedly.
