(thirty-one) say you won't let go

(Lexi's POV)

An Italian photographer approached Holly and I, insisting we allow him to take a photo of the two of us in front of the venue for the Milan Fashion Week.

We posed and he snapped a photo, running off inside to go take more photos of other designers and models.

"After Gigi and Kendall go on, I'm leaving for my flight back home if I want to make it home in time for his birthday."

I told Mila what time I wanted to be home by, in Chicago time, and she handled it from there. Truthfully, the time differences always confuse me, so I trust that Mila knows what she's doing when it comes to handling all my flight information.

"Okay," Holly nodded as we went back inside the venue after taking a breath of fresh air.

We reclaimed our seats that were coincidentally next to Brody Hudson; I feared it'd be awkward between the two of us considering we went on a few dates, but our relationship never went further than that. It wasn't though, he was casual and professional just like I hoped he'd be.

There was no way we were going to be able to avoid each other considering we both have a job that participates in events like this, Fashion Week.

Gigi Hadid was low key kind of pissed when I didn't end up attending any other fashion weeks in fall because it leaves her without a job, but she still agreed to work with me again for the February fashion week. She even convinced Kendall Jenner to model for Lexi's, which I was endlessly grateful for.

After cancelling my appearance and participation in the fall, I feared no one would be interested in my company, but having Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid really made up for that.

The people couldn't get enough of the two best friends who strutted the runway side by side.

Before departing to the airport, I took several more pictures with my models and fellow fashion designers.

The amount of times I was asked why I was departing from fashion week 3 days earlier than scheduled was absolutely insane.

Every time I answered with the simple reply of family stuff, but they still continued to ask as if I'd change my mind.

Realistically, I was leaving Holly in Milan to handle the rest of fashion week because Liam's birthday is tomorrow.

He doesn't know I'm coming home for his birthday, but that's part of his birthday present.
I haven't seen him since I left for fashion week in the beginning of the month, aside from FaceTime calls that we had whenever our scheduled permitted.

Needless to say, I was way past excited to see.

Since our models were done for the next few hours, Holly took a cab back to our hotel with me. We made small talk about the other designs we'd seen during the day that were before and after the Lexi's designs.

When we'd arrived back at the hotel, I had some big news to share with Holly. I've been considering it for quite some time and talking to Liam and Brooke about it for their opinions. Today, I'd bring up the idea to Holly and see if she was up for the promotion.

Holly closed the door to our hotel room and laid down on her bed, covering her eyes.

The constant timezone changes we've been enduring all month are really killing both of us, but somehow we've been fighting through them.

"Hey, Holly, I have a proposition for you," I began to catch her attention. She sat up and removed her arm from covering her eyes. "As you know, you're a huge part of my company, even if you're technically just a manager. For months, I've been thinking of a way I could promote you without having to send you away."
