(Lexi's POV)

A year ago, I thought I had everything I could ever ask for.

I lived in a big house with my sister, I had a boyfriend, I was rich, and I had my own company.

So much has changed since then, though. Today, I realize how much better my life has gotten since then, how I'm genuinely happier.

Now, I'm helping my sister move out into Alex's apartment, I live with my fiancée, and I co-own my company with someone whom I've grown very close with these past couple of years.

Liam and Taylor both warily accepted my offer to pay for their college tuition at Truman College, a local community college. Both of them were now working toward their business degrees they've wanted since they were teenagers.

On the downside of all the good things that have happened lately, with Liam and Taylor both taking a great deal of time off of work for their classes, Artie was struggling to keep Dooley's afloat.

He had nearly sold the business over to the state, simply because he couldn't afford to keep it going much longer. I wasn't going to let that happen, though.

Especially not to the place I had met my husband-to-be.

I talked to Liam about it a lot, then pitched the idea to Artie.

We came to the agreement that I would buy the bar from Artie and own it under my name until Liam finished his business degree.

As news got out about my newest property purchase, the public seemed to have forgotten that Dooley's was on the wrong side of town. Business had begun to boom and everything was quick to fall back into line.

Artie was able to continue to make money and didn't have to watch his bar go up in flames.

"Pick a date, Ali," Liam insisted as I stared at our calendar. Our wedding planner, Crystal Flake, was staring at me blankly. She was clearly annoyed I was taking forever to decide on a date.

"October," I decided, scanning over the month. "October 12th 2019."

"Isn't that going to be a little difficult with fashion week right before that?" Liam rose his eyebrow.

Crystal didn't bother writing the date down just yet, in case we would switch it. I couldn't even blame her because we'd spent the past 20 minutes deciding on a date.

"Holly can handle the Milan and Paris shows," I reminded him.

He, too, was getting slightly annoyed with me, which is why I picked the first date I saw.

I just hope that Brooklyn is able to go with her to all of the shows. It'd be rather cruel of me to leave her alone for two weeks, dealing with all of the snippy models and paparazzi.

"October 12th 2019 it is!" Liam declared standing up to shake hands with Crystal. "Thank you for your time. We'll see you next week."

With that, Crystal gathered up her things and left our house.

Liam sunk back into his seat and ran a distressed hand through his hair.

I frowned. "I'm sorry."

"For what, beautiful?" His tired eyes looked back at me with a small smile playing on his lips.

"For being so difficult with all of the wedding stuff."

Liam chuckled softly and reached out for my hand. "Come here." As instructed, I stood up from my seat and sat down on Liam's lap, resting my head on his shoulder.
