"what do you want to do today?" I asked Jezabelle, stretched on the bed with Woofers trotting around.

"whatever you wanna do," she answered. "now have you seen my jean shorts?"

she was prancing around the room in her tank top and underwear, searching for a certain pair of shorts, even though she had others hanging up.

"babe, why don't you just wear another pair? or jeans!" I laughed, rubbing on Woofers fur.

"not in this heat," she mumbled, bending down in the closet to look for her shorts.

I tried hard not to stare at her half covered bottom.

"found them!" she exclaimed, pulling a pair shorts off the shelves.

she slid them on as I watched, buttoned them, and came to join Woofers and I on the bed.

Woofers immediately went to her and she placed him on her chest, smiling at him as if he were a baby.

all it did was remind me of something I had been waiting to tell her.

"was there something you wanted to do?" Jezabelle asked me, lifting Woofers off her and turning on her side towards me.

I rested my hands on her thighs and rubbed them.

there wasn't really much I could do - since I injured my thumb and was expected to miss a whole month.

I shrugged. "nothing particular, how about we take Woofers for a walk?" I suggested.

she nodded and we both got up from the bed at the same time, putting our shoes on.

I grabbed our sunglasses while she hooked Woofer's leash on, and we headed out with the heat already greeting us as soon as the door opened.

the neighborhood was quiet on this early afternoon. I relaxed my body a bit even though I had nerves building up.

I was plucking up my courage for Jezabelle, wanting to tell her something I've wanted to for so long.

to make things easier, or less distressed for me, I figured something with humor might lead to what exactly I wanted to say.

"let's play a game," I mentioned, similarly to the first time we had played this game.

"a game? what kind of game?" Jezabelle asked, coming to a stop so Woofers could sniff through some grass.

"twenty questions,"

she shook her head with a quiet chuckle, waiting for Woofers to finish before we continued our walk.

"what?" I asked, curious as to why she was laughing.

"that's what you asked me the first time you took me out," she answered.

"oh yeah, that was such a great day," I sighed, glad that she still remembered that day.

"that's when everything fell into place,"

"best day of my life. anyway, let's play twenty questions, you go first," I said.

she thought for a second. "um...what superpower would you want?" she asked, grabbing my hand to hold.

"to be invisible," I answered. "do you see us getting married?" I asked, watching her out the corner of my eye.

I had changed the dynamics of the game quick and without hesitation. I just had to see her face.

and I didn't mean to just blurt the question out, but it was the only way I could get on the topic.

"maybe, do you?" she murmured.
