I pace in the middle of the room.
"Dude. Come on. Stop pacing. You're making me want to throw this sandwich at you." Zigg says as he shoves another bite of the sandwich he's been eating for the past few minutes in his mouth.
I stop to look at him. "Seriously?! You're eating NOW?"
He rolls his eyes. "I'm not the one getting married today."
I roll my eyes.
"Hey, at least you finally woke up and realized that Lyla was right there," He says, shrugging. "Finally after literally forever."
I think back to the day when I walked into her room and found the letters. I felt so shocked and so happy and so mad at myself for not realizing that she loved me the whole time.
But I found her. And I'm so lucky I did. I don't know what I would be without her. I was so crazy to think that I could leave her like I did. And I apologize to her everyday for it.
"I know she's the one, man. I'm just glad I get to be hers for the rest of my life." I shake my head, smiling at the thought of her.
Zig checks his watch. "Well, forever is sooner than you think. We gotta go."
I take a deep breath as I walk towards my stand at the altar. People gather and find their seats.
I take a look at my parents and Zig next to me and picture Lyla walking down the aisle towards me... And I'm ready.
The March begins to play and I fiddle nervously as I stare at the door down the aisle.
And then it opens.
And then it's like my whole world is walking towards me. Because it is.
Tears well up in my eyes as I watch my world walk towards me in the most beautiful dress I've ever seen. But the person wearing it, is even more beautiful.
Lyla walks towards me with such love in her eyes, I can't help but smile.
"I love you." I whisper to her as she reaches where I'm at. I place my hand in hers.
"I love you too." She whispers back and I smile at her and admire her beauty. We both turn towards the Pastor.
"Family and friends of the Lyla and Grayson, thank you for being here today and welcome. We are gathered here today to celebrate the joy and love of Lyla and Grayson," The Pastor begins. "Now, we turn to the table, where we have the cup, the candle, and the rings where they shall say their vows."
Lyla turns to the table. She holds up her hand and places it in mine.
"With this hand, I will lift your sorrows," She begins, and then turns to the cup, picking up the wine.
"Your cup will never be empty, for I am your wine," She pours the wine into the cup.
Then she turns to the candle, holding a lighter."With this candle, I will light your way into darkness,"
Lyla lights the candle and finally picks up one of the rings, my ring.
"And with this ring, I ask you to be mine." I hold out my hand, never breaking my gaze from her face. Lyla slips the ring onto my finger and applause breaks out.
