Addison slowly opened one eye and saw dark blue light surrounding her. Her body had become weightless and she was floating only feet from the concrete below.
Addison glanced upwards to find the source of the light to see a triangular silver spaceship. Her jaw dropped open and she tried to let out a scream but she was too surprised and only sputtered.
A strange force was dragging her upwards towards the ship. As she went up higher and higher she saw someone jump into the blue light where the strange voice was on the roof a few feet above her. This person or thing looked just like a human in his late teens, but he had white cat like ears atop his sandy hair and a white monkey like tail. He had scars that looked like they were caused by a whip on his face and up and down his arms. He looked down at Addison and smiled, revealing fanged teeth. He waved at her and then looked back up at the spaceship and hopped inside as he came closer to the entrance. Addison came closer and closer to the light, and as she did the light became brighter and brighter. She closed her eyes tightly as she felt herself being pulled inside the ship. What was happening? Who was taking her and what did they want?
Soon Addison felt herself being pulled inside. There was a loud bang of a steel door shutting and the light was gone. Addison was lying on a cold metal ground. Her eyes still tightly shut and her body trembling. What just happened to her? Where was she?
Addison heard many footsteps come towards her, clanking against the metal floor. She didn't dare move, she lied completely still against the ground. Many scenarios ran through her mind of what was going on. Was she abducted by aliens!? Or was this all a dream? Addison wanted to believe it was a dream but it all felt so real. As she sat there still she began to hear voices.
"Is she dead?" A female voice said.
"You probably gave her a heart attack, Rocco!" Another young male voice said.
"It was funny though." A familiar voice answered the other, it was the voice of the thing that was on the roof.
"I told you we should've just talked to her and taken her." A deeper voice from the others said.
Then Addison felt something wet against her cheek, and something sniffing her. She flinched and opened her eyes and found herself in the spaceship with four other people standing over her, well at least one of them were human the other three didn't look human and a ginger dog with a black vest on sniffing her. One of the non human beings was a girl with jet black skin, her skin was like the color of the night sky but she had should length, snow white hair. Her eyes were all white also, she had no pupils. She wore black leather pants and jacket with dark brown boots.
This strange girl was staring straight at Addison with a smile on her dark face. Addison looked over at the boy standing next to the strange girl, it was the strange creature Addison saw jump off the roof. He waved at Addison smiling. Addison just stared with fear in her eyes.
Next to the strange boy was another guy. He looked like he was in his early twenties, this was the only human out of the four. He had curly sandy hair, and a sweet smile. He was wearing a puffy orange vest over a blue shirt.
Now the last of the four was an older man, probably in his fifties. He was bald with bright yellow eyes. He was shirtless and an African American and he was quite burly. The only odd things about him were his eyes and the white tattoos he had up and down his arms and across his chest. They formed some kind of story, or tapestry across his skin.
Addison slowly sat up into a sitting position. The dog stepped back and growled at Addison. The human boy grabbed the dog by the vest and pulled her back.
"No Starla." He said. "Don't growl at Addison."
Addison stared up at the boy. How did he know her name? The boy extended his arm towards Addison and offered to help her up. Addison took a trembling hand and placed it in his. He pulled her up, he was surprisingly strong.
"I'm super sorry. You're probably super confused on what is going on." The boy said.
Addison looked around the spaceship and nodded. She noticed they were in the cockpit of the spaceship, standing just behind the seats. Many lights were lighting the room with a light blue light. Many mechanisms were across the room, buttons and switches were all across the walls.
"Well, I'm Andrew." Said the boy putting a hand on his chest, "And that's Grimm." He pointed to the strange alien like girl. She waved at Addison. "That's Rocco." Andrew pointed to the teenage creature boy. "And he is Danez." Andrew pointed to the burly African American.
Addison looked around at them all. She still felt uneasy about everything. She didn't say a word, she was too frightened. Andrew sighed and stepped closer to her.
"You probably want an explanation."
Addison nodded.
"Well..." Andrew took a deep breath, "We heard your call."
Addison stopped. They heard her. They heard her cry for someone the night before.
"We heard your cry of distress, Danez here, he could hear your pain, your loneliness."
Addison looked over her shoulder at Danez. He smiled slightly. She returned a smile also.
"This is what we do." Andrew continued, "We help the lonely, the ones just like us. Forgotten and alone, the ones who are outcasts..."
Addison soon finally spoke for the first time, "Then why did you do it the way you did."
"What do you mean?" Andrew asked, still petting his dog who was at his side.
"Why did you scare me into it. Why did you push me off the building. Why did you mess up my room! You could've just approached me casually!" Addison stated.
Everyone's glance turned to Rocco. They all glared at him. Addison turned around and faced Rocco. His cheeks had turned bright red and he smiled in embarrassment. He then began to fade away until he was completely gone; invisible. Addison gasped.
"It was him!" She gasped, "He was the voice. This was all your idea!?"
Rocco returned into sight but only as his head and slowly nodded and then he disappeared again.
"He's a jokester." Danez told Addison.
Addison felt someone grab her hand and turn her back around. It was Andrew. He smiled at Addison.
"Welcome to the Outcasts."
